Um... what?
"A lot of fans were drawn to me because they knew that whatever the score was, I was going to run as hard as I could on every play. You don't have that now, you have guys waiting for next week or even next year." - Walter Payton

I like that Major Wright
“has some personality to him”. After seeing some of his highlights it appears he’s not afraid to let you know you just got layed out. It’s exciting to have a smash mouth guy playing in the secondary again.
You're being very Un-Dude right now.
And this...
Coach Lovie Smith on safety Major Wright, the team’s third-round pick out of Florida, "You can see Major has a little bit of personality to him. You’re not going to have to pry a lot of answers out of him. He’s eager to talk to everyone. Really a breath of fresh air, I guess you can say, to our group.’’
That tells you how much has been missing from the group, not just from a performance level, but also from a personality/leadership level.

Cue the Mike Brown fans...
" We get off the bus running! What do you mean we are a passing team? you don't agree with how I do things? You're fired!"
- Lovie Smith-
It's been a long time since we've had a "Mike Brown" type in the backfield.
I’ve always believed that the Bears defense has been predicated on the leadership of Brian Urlacher and Mike Brown. It’ll be interesting to see if Major Wright can foot the billet.

Sounds like Martz would like to have Kitna
‘It would always help, that’s for sure,‘’ Martz said when asked if he would prefer a quarterback he has worked with before. ’’It doesn’t have to be. A good player is a good player. It’s just harder for them to learn, basically. A veteran has been through several systems, usually, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Jon Kitna had been through a bunch of systems. It would give him a leg up and make it easier, especially if he joins us late, but a good player is a good player, and we’ll make it work.’’

I thought the same thing...
… But, Kitna isn’t available. He is a backup to Tony Romo in Dallas. I think he is referring to Marc Bulger.
However, I think Angelo believes that Caleb Hanie is a capable backup and doesn’t want to invest in a Marc Bulger.

Kitna was listed as a FA in some places before teh season ended
but I just looked this up from rotoworld in regards to his contract
//2009: Signed a four-year contract extension through 2013. 2010: $2 million, 2011: $2.6 million, 2012: $3.1 million, 2013: $2.9 million, 2014: Free Agent
That is a lot of scratch for a back up QB!

I'd love for us to have juice Williams on the team
If we could use him right, shotgun snaps, qb draws add something new
Lovie may put him at wr or SS though

Seriously!
What happened to the whole getting mentored by donovan thing?
WR the strongest unit in 2010?
I would have to agree.
I have the Bears positional units “pecking order” as follows:
WR
LB
OL
QB
RB
DL
Secondary
OF course that doesn’t mean because the DL is near the bottom that they will be a disappointment…
… I just think people will be really suprised at how well the offense will be in 2010. The Secondary is a GREAT concern for me (injuries, talent, depth) and it has severely needed an injection of youth and talent for some years. Major Wright is a start.

I'm going to disagree slightly.
First off, the best unit is Special Teams. That’s #1.
My rankings:
SpTms
LB (Urlacher, Briggs, Pisa, Roach, Hunter, Shaw)
TE (separate from WR)
QB (Jay is awesome)
WR (still a little too green to put ahead of the other units, but LOTS of potential)
DL (we added Peppers!)
RB (too many ?s w Forte)
OL (we don’t know if Omiyale will be any good at RT, we don’t know who the LG is)
DBs (Wright is a rookie, Tillman has lots of mileage, Bowman is still young, Harris good SS)

TEs get bumped 2 slots
Clark is still their most reliable tight end(don’t know if that’s a good thing.) I see the potential in Olsen but as of now it’s still just that. Jay (Through The Roof Potential) Cutler and the WRs is 3a and 3b. The success of both is predicated on each other. Cutler please step up your decision making. Recievers, run those routes.
I'll throw it up there!
I thought so too. Makes for interesting beginning of the week “fodder”. ;-)

doubtful, but I would love to be proven wrong
assuming that DA, Bennett, Hester, Knox and company will be the best group is a real stretch. Way too inexperienced.

They all have a year under Jay
That argument of the lack of experience can only last so long.

Good catch, MuleTrain…
… I have them above the Secondary.
