I didn't say they wouldn't be unbanned.
But technically speaking, I bet I could sneak a ban in there before Dane caught it.

Who knew 300+ lbs is undersized. Only in the NFL. Lol.

Well, when I think nose tackle I think 340+. A guy that can plug the middle and allow the ends to attack.
At 6’1" (probably really 5’10) 305, this guy will be outweighed by nearly every offensive lineman he faces and allow even shorter QBs to see downfield.
I know... just saying how many 300 pounders would you say are undersized?
It’s an NFL thing I get it. But if you look at it, he’s probably one of the bigger guys we have on the D line.

A NT in the Bears system isn't the 340 type
Those 340 bigguns are better suited for the 3-4 defense.

I see where Ted Washington is still on Cleveland's roster, at 41!
I am so tired of the Bear’s philosophy of undersized linemen, especially in the middle. It’s worked so well the past 3 years. s/o
It's all due to the 1 gap defense
Teams that ask their lineman to control 2 gaps need the big behemoths, teams that want their lineman to attack need the faster athletes. But when the 1 gap defense is working it’s a thing of beauty.
I just hope the Bears can get back to their attacking ways.

Wouldn’t it be possible to have a big guy or two in the middle control 2 gaps, to free up one or two other defenders? Or am I being naive? (Quite possible.)

Works for the Viqueens.
I think Lovie should have just one 340-350 pd dude he can throw in there when things aren’t working out right. Switch it up a little bit.
Adrian Pedestrian!! Now that's funny Mr. Bayless...
It could work
but in their scheme every player is responsible for 1 gap…
I’d love a melding of the two styles of defense, but that’s not what they do.
The Vikings want their DT’s to penetrate 1 gap as well. Pat (3 Technique) Williams is 6’5" 311, and Kevin (NT) Williams is listed at 6’3" 317 but I guess he’s over 330. The Bears do like their NT to be a stouter player, but they still need the 1 gap quickness.

Undrafted Free Agents
There have been some cool names that tried out this past weekend but, it sounds like in order to keep any of these guys somebody’s got to be cut. Same would have to happen if we had more draft picks. I’m thinking we make room for the WR standout Freddie Barnes and drop Bazanaez and Wolfe to name a few.
I don't remeber Freddie Barnes' name being mentioned as standing out during OTA's
so I think his chances are somewhere between slim and none.
Adrian Pedestrian!! Now that's funny Mr. Bayless...
Neil Hayes replied to a comment on the Sun-Times site:
Neil here: Freddie was the most impressive of the wideouts at the minicamp, by far. I watched every minute of every practice. Davis wasn’t there. Davis also makes more money, and is expected to move on. I’m not saying he’ll make an impact. All I said was that he’s got a chance to compete for a roster spot.

Yeah I saw that a little later on.
I sit corrected. Damn Neil Hayes and his meddling articles :)

We want to show them how awesome our WCG community is… let’s head over and flood the comment thread with WCG-awesomeness! They won’t know what hit them!
Are we the only ones that has ever commented on that site?

Can we post pictures over there?
I’m really good at that. Adding any actual football content is reaching a bit. Also do they know that they can follow WCG on Twitter?

Last season I was all for having a veteran backup at QB
but at this point, I just don’t see the benefit of bringing a guy like McCown in. Just because he’s been in the league for 8 years, he has never been very good when he’s received a chance. I don’t see that as a definitive upgrade over Hanie right now, plus you’d be taking away practice reps and hurting his development. Unless you think your team is good enough to make a run in the playoffs, an experienced backup is a luxury. I think there are too many questions about other areas of this team and their ability to truly compete for a playoff spot if Cutler goes down or is ineffective.
I'd definitely prefer Bulger over McCown, but I'm still not convinced this team can make the playoffs.
If they don’t have outstanding QB play, no matter who is behind center, I really don’t see them having a shot. I would rather see them develop Hanie further. I’m still very skeptical about the O-line, D-line, and secondary. Not saying they will be bad, but I’m not convinced that they’ll be upgraded at this point either.
Peter King is an idiot
Even if our WR’s aren’t quite what Martz is making them out to be, Peter King is the last person that should be calling them out. I don’t know if there is any national football writer I have less respect for than him.

Yeah
I mean he did predict the Bears in the Super Bowl last season! What a tool!
If you can't laugh at yourself you must not be very funny.
haha i remember that
I just think he is terrible at his job. It seems like he has everyone do the ground work for him and then he puts slops together some 1000 word travesty that is usually factually wrong and mostly crappy opinion. I just think he is a yuppy northeasterner.

I do like his writing...
But his predictions do seem really off the wall sometimes

It's actually good to see some actual stats that are positive regarding our WRs
Tied for the fewest drops in the league and 9th in plays over 20 yards is helluva accomplishment for a group so young. It also backs up the confidence the Bears in that group by not adding a veteran…. FINALLY we have an SC guy on the team! You can never have to many Trojans on your team lol
