It will definitely
not be good if he ends up in the North, and not in navy and orange though

Well, Jerry Jones is usually about as forthcoming as Jerry Angelo.
But from a need basis, it makes sense. Jerry desperately wants to have the Cowboys with the home field advantage for the Super Bowl this year. Let’s just say OJ will have his choice of teams.
how great would it be to watch the Boys' lose in Texas...
unforunately for them, they play in the NFC, which will be represented by Chicago

Cutler Vs Stafford
While I look at the above and think to myself, well what’s to debate we already know the following…
Bears > Lions
So I have to step back and look deeper. Are we debating what the article mostly discusses and that projected interceptions; or are we debating wether Cutler is better than Stafford or vice versa. Based soley on opinon cause I don’t feel like doing any research I’m going to say Cutler will be better this year than Stafford.
I believe (purley speculation) that Cutler will have a better season this year than last based on 2 points, he should have better protection (can’t get much worse can it?) and a better scheme/system to work in. In that system he will have a better rapport with his WR group than last year so that with the better protection “should” cut down on broken routes hurried throws and sacks. All those factors lead to poor decision making and turnovers. I’m of the frame of mind that Cutler has possibly matured and has realized he can’t live off reputation alone as having a big arm, he has to be a winner. He has to silence his critics and I think Martz (a former critic) would be more than happy to put his stamp on the development of Jay Cutler.
Now for Stafford to jump Cutler as far as being the “better” QB, he has to 1 stay healthy the entire year. As the article spoke of, he only started 10 games due to injury and was projected with his current interceptions to throw 32 for the year. Will Stafford be better this year? Well many thought JaMarcus Russell would be better and we all know how that worked out. Is Stafford the same as Russell no not by any means, I think he will show a measureable amount of improvement over last year, and it doesn’t hurt that he has Calvin Johnson to throw to either. Maybe in another couple of years we could have this debate but I believe it is too early in his career to be comparing his ability to another division rival. I would accept a Cutler Vs. Rodgers debate instead of this based on the longevity of both careers. However I give Rodgers a leg up based on stability of team and scheme/system. Of course my standard answer would always be a Bear is better than a Packer no matter what.
So in summary the Cutler Vs. Stafford debate goes the only way it could possibly go with winner being Ditka.

I am too!
Looking at what’s available in FA and what was available via a 3rd round pick in the draft…
… What else could the Bears have done?
I like the fact that they got rid of the crazy idea that Frank Omiyale was a Guard and moved him back to his natural position. Chris Williams showed promise towards the end of the year and with another year should show more promise. Kreutz had offseason to rid himself of a bone spur that Jeff Dickerson said was the size of a baseball. Garza is solid. And Kevin Shaffer has been said to be working very hard at the LG position.
However, the BIGGEST acquisition is Mike Tice at OL coordinator. His instruction and expectations should benefit a newly grouped offensive line.
But, I just wonder what fans wanted with the limits that were there at the beginning of offseason?
AN aged Alan Faneca?

‘’What else could the Bears have done?’’
Seriously?
We could of drafted Eric Olsen…………..Faneca is old, but he still has a good year or two……….We should of mad a bigger push, too get Rob Sims!!
My point is, that Dan Is a idiot…………..This line might be serviceable, but it can be better……
by I love football! on Jun 2, 2010 9:41 AM CDT up reply actions
Faneca has a year? Really?
Then why did the Jets decide that it would be best to draft a Guard in this year’s draft and eat a HUGE contract in order to cut him?
You point out Eric Olsen who was taken in the 6th round by the Broncos, but you’ll have to explain to me how that makes anymore sense than starting Josh Beekman or Kevin Shaffer. If the Bears need an “impact player” at the LG position…
… How is a player that was passed up almost 200 times supposed to fill that role in one year?
My point is this…
… Given the major needs and the limited amount of picks and the “short” time this coaching staff needs for this team to be competitive…
… The Bears did a good job of addressing majority of their concerns thus far this offseason. Now, you have to hope the coaching of Shaffer or Beekman pays off as they anticipate.

encouragement?! me (we) no need no stinking encouragement!!
but seriously his signature on a package of Charmin Ultra would be priceless (AKA $5 for a package of 4 rolls) (4 of these rolls = 8 regulars rolls)
If I can produce said autograph when I attend training camp this summer
would I then be crowned King of WCG for a year? Replete with t-shirt and official tag? Cause that’s real tempting….

So it’s June 1st! Does that mean OJ is an unrestricted FA now?

if the glove don't fit you must acquit
nonetheless OJ’s movements are anything but unrestricted.
Not that I agree, but I think our safeties are set with Chris Harris and Major Wright as the starters. I think that is the best possible safety combo for the Bears right now. While that is contingent on Wright’s rookie year, similar to the WR situation, the promise and potential of young talent is enough to blind Bears management to the glaring need for immediate veteran help.
While they dont really have an excuse for not signing OJ, or another veteran for the secondary, not doing so will soon become an excuse for poor play and a reason to wait for ext year, again.
Stafford would have thrown more picks than Cutler if he played the entire year.

I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.
Stafford
10 games, with 20 Ints? Add six games to that rate and we have 32 total Ints, right?

Its actually probably closer to 31 ints that Stafford would've likely thrown.
Cutler threw 26 ints in 555 attempts or about 1 int every 21.34 attempts. Stafford threw 1 int every 19.5 attempts and if you extrapolate THAT information Stafford would likely have thrown around 31 ins in a 16 game season barring any anomalies. Now if we really wanted to break it down we could look at the career number but we all know statistics are only worth the paper they are printed on and can in no way shape or form accurately predict anything quite as random and unpredictable as professional football. But it is next year right now so who knows…
If you can't laugh at yourself you must not be very funny.
It's called "speculation". You should try it sometime. Oh, wait. You do. But when you do it it counts for something.

I say we give up our
2nd for Jared Gaither. I’m not the biggest fan of Mortgaging our future but come on, he will be better than anyone we could/will pick up in the 2nd next year(especially if JA and Lovie come back). Also it would be nice to have 2 bookend tackles to solidify our O-line and give Jay that time he is going to need in Martz offense.
I have two words for you
Frank Omiyale.

Omiyale should be a back up
There is a reason why he could never crack a starting line up until the bears overpayed him and then handed hium the job. Jared Gaither is alot better.
Frank O!

There's also a reason why the Ravens would are willing to let Gaither go.
Adrian Pedestrian!! Now that's funny Mr. Bayless...
People fall out of favor with teams all the time.
That doesn’t make them bad players, it just opens the door for other teams. If the bears can negotiate a good contract(and i admit that is a big IF) he would definitely be an upgrade. I’ve seen Omiyale play and Gaither is better.
It also doesn't make Omiyale a bad player because he was stuck behind two pretty good players.
I wouldn’t mind having gaither myself but to talk about about how good or bad a player is at a spot before you have seen them play isn’t right either. There is a big difference between Guard and Tackle and a little more to it than just saying Omi sucked at guard so he must suck at tackle too.
On the other side though if they could work out something why not bring the guy in. I’d give up a 2nd for the guy i’d even throw in a player too. I don’t see the problem with trading a 2nd for a young player. A 1st would be a little harder to let go of but I could do a second. It’d be taking on a considerable risk however with his durablilty and work ethic being question this early on also.
Adrian Pedestrian!! Now that's funny Mr. Bayless...
Again, like i said below,
he played and started some games for the Panthers. He wasn’t that good. Just because he is a bear know doesn’t mean that, all of the sudden, he is going to be a pro bowler. I’m not saying he is going to be horrible, but he probably won’t be any better than Shaffer or the kid who left for cleveland. If we can get a Gaither, who i have also watched play, we should. He is better than Omiyale.
The games he started for Carolina he graded out really well
That’s why he received other offers as a FA

No one really knows that yet
He was starting a new position on a new team. His athleticism has been said to translate much, much better at tackle than at guard.
"Is there any truth to the rumor that the Bears gave up their first-round pick in 2011 for the decals?" - Someone registered as the DailyNorseman at PFT suggesting the Bears gave up picks in order to get Gaines Adams tribute decals. Stay classy Minnesota fans!
He was drafted by carolina to play tackle.
He was also bad enough at LG for the bears to decide that he was no longer going to compete at that position. Seriously, the guy is not a rookie stop talking about him like he is.
It doesnt matter that he was bad at left guard.
He is better suited to be a tackle so you cant really make a judgment on his tackle skills based on his guard play and he improved toward the end of last year at guard.
Read above post
He played and started a few games AT TACKLE for the Panthers! HE IS NOT A ROOKIE!!
so far he isn't good at anything.
he is neither a LG or a Tackle. so there is that. Gaither > Omiyale.
