6to1 favorites to win the north???? WOW! At least someone recognizes what the Bears org has done this past year……If Forte comes back full strength, then that’s just icing on the cake !!!!!!

Really glad
to hear Forte is getting back to what we fell in love with. Now that he’ll be splitting carries with another reliable back, I think you’ll see him run with a little more energy, and he’ll be less likely to have a new injury.
Amen...
…to what we fell in love with.
Hahahaha. :P Jkjk. I keed. I keed.

Hester lining up at a lot of different spots?
I like the sound of that. Even before he was a wideout there were so many people saying we needed to just throw him into different spots and let his speed and agility do their thing. Turner was never creative enough to do that stuff.
I’m also really excited about Forte. Glad he’s got that burst he was missing last year and he’s being real classy about Chester Taylor brought in, as he should. He’s smart and knows it will help.
"I was interviewing George Halas and I asked him who is the greatest running back you ever saw. And he said, 'That would be Red Grange.' And I asked him if Grange was playing today, how many yards do you think he'd gain. And he said, 'About 750, maybe 800 yards.' And I said, 'Well, 800 yards is just okay.' He sat up in his chair and he said, 'Son, you must remember one thing. Red Grange is 75 years old.' - Chris Berman

But... but...
Hester’s too stoo-stooo-stooopid to learn more than one position.

observation
Hester hasn’t proven consistently that he isn’t in what really matters – a game situation, with Martz at the controls. We’ll see come game time.

Matt Forte back? "I'M BUYING!"
I think there were two thing that were pretty obvious about his 2009 campaign at RB.
1.) He was laboring— There wasn’t any burst or explosion coming from him out of the backfield. He literally got to the line of scrimmage and stopped.
2.) The Offensive Line wasn’t cohesive or healthy— Orlando Pace looked bad in the preseason, Kruetz has looked like something was wrong for the past two years, and the ever-looming LG position never made matters better (no matter WHO was plugged in).
I think that with Chester Taylor in the backfield who can take some reps without the offense missing a step and a focused offensive line under Mike Tice, who I think is doing a terrific job of establishing “work ethic” and culture…
… I can see Matt Forte as being 1st-2nd round numbers at the end of the 2010 FANTASY FOOTBALL season.
mark it down!

I agree CM. Last season was likely an anomaly, and Matt was a real pro by gutting it out even though he was injured.
Considering the Bears had nothing backing him up. I understand the mentality of not announcing his injuries, but it really annoyed me when people came on the boards ripping him and calling him nothing better than a journeyman. It’s no wonder players don’t feel any loyalty to the fans when so many fans just parrot what they hear on ESPN and other national sports media. Anyone with eyes could see that MF wasn’t healthy last season.
Dan Pompei Mailbag: Which Martz are we getting?
I’d like your take that the Mike Martz who is coaching for the Bears is not the same offensive genius of the Rams Greatest Show on Turf but the only somewhat effective offensive coordinator of the Lions and 49ers who was fired from both jobs. David Holingue, Chicago
Basically, Pompei stated the obvious— which I think that many Bears fans are pessimistically hopeful will hold true. That Martz is working with the most talented team he has coached since 1999 with the Rams. If the offensive line gels, there will be plenty to smile about on Sunday afternoon’s in Chicago.
I think that is very true statement.
Jeff Dickerson noted this morning on ESPN 1000 that Jay Cutler is genuinely pleased with Martz’s instruction and has really bought in to his instruction. I think this was the big negative for Peter King in his assessment of the Bears this year.
Hopefully, the optimism and morale will continue through training camp and the Bears OL continue to improve.

I hope Forte is healthy.
And Orton is the best QB in Denver, but now it looks like McDaniels the Team Destroyer wants to just send his mancrush Tebow in there.

Plus, Tebow to play defense as well, replacing Elvis Dumervil.

I can't get excited until I see consistency from the O line and the QBs throws...
The offense needs to control the game and keep the pressure off the Bears D, no matter what. I like the explosive playbook, though the Martz system is well known these days, but we really need to develop those dependable plays that get yards at a high percentage. This means a QB who limits mistakes and an OL which can dependably control the line of scrimmage. We’ve got a long way to go, even if things looked a little better for the OL at the end of last season.
For the record, I would have started Blanco at SS and Theriot at 2B for 2010, and released either Baker or Fontenot.

I'm hoping,
that with a healthy Forte and the addition of Chester Taylor, the running game will help Cutler. It felt like (last season) Cutler was trying to do to much. The Oline was showing some improvement at the end of last season so I’m hoping the addition of Tice will help to solidify the oline. I guess that’s the key phrase “I hope”.
