Chris Harris' Hit-Stick'em with The Hitman Contest

Man, I remember the first time I saw myself in a video game.  Actually, maybe I don’t remember exactly when.  I know it was a Madden game, but I can’t remember what year it was.  Was it ‘05?  ‘06?  Shoot, I don’t remember.  I’m certain it was Madden, though.

Star-divide

I’m not a Madden player -- I’m not a big gamer -- I just don’t do video games that much.  But I did play it that one time earlier in my career just to see myself in the game.  And MAN was I geeked!  Never had I previously thought I’d be in a video game, but there I was on the screen, controlling my character’s every move with my fingers.  It was definitely a cool thing to see.

A lot of my friends come up to me and say... "Hey, man!  I’m playing you on Madden!"  That’s always cool to hear.  And my Brother, he’ll holler at me when each new Madden is released to update me on how the game has adjusted my ratings, rankings, etc.  Hopefully, those numbers are a lot higher now than they were my rookie year - HA!

By now, most of you probably already have the new Madden 11 - right?  If you do, good.  If not, go get it.  The reason I ask is because I'm launching a pretty sweet contest titled "Chris Harris' Hit-Stick'em with The Hitman Contest."  Winners will receive items such as autographed game case inserts, football gloves or cleats.

For instructions on how to participate, hurry up and click that link down below so you can get busy.

Btw, this is a very good Madden 11’ review.

Cool idea!

Too bad I don’t really play Madden. But I am undefeated! (I played one time on rookie and won) Hahahaha. Nice shout out to David Taylor too!

I'd love too, but......

My finances are currently tied up in wedding plans. My fiancée and I are finally tying the knot Sept 18th, and the wedding and reception are draining all of my funds, so Madden 11 will have to wait. But at least I have a good excuse! :D

Agreed!

EA originally designed this game for the PS engine and, IMO, Madden still plays better (more fluid) on Sony products. I had my original XBOX modded with a 120G HD and chip so I “backed up” 40 or so games right on the drive (including nudie DOA Beach Volleyball, woohoo!).

I actually like the PS3

The graphics are amazing, and the Blu-Ray is a bonus. Just don’t have the funds for one, and I think the online experience is better on 360 by far, though it’s free on PS3.

WILDCARD BITCHES!!! YEEEEHHHAAAAA!!!!!

by Acreman20 on Aug 12, 2010 1:35 PM CDT up reply actions

the all-around performance on the PS3 is better

the gameplay is more fluid, graphix are better, controller is easier to understand and more practical.
And no i’m not bias, i owned a 360 until i too got the red ring, i didn’t mess around. I got my money back and bought a ps3, never been happier.

by suckmyditka on Aug 12, 2010 4:14 PM CDT up reply actions

I'm definitely saving up for a PS3

The gameplay is definitely more fluid, I’ve just been an xbox fan since the first one came out.

I own a PS3.....

and a Wii. Used to own a 360, as well, til I got the red ring twice. That was enough for me.

As far as the online experience goes, I’ll take a ps3, and not just because it’s free. Hell, when my fiancée spent 3 months in Texas earlier this year, we lived off the PS3. The kids visited with mom via the video chat every day. We use the video and text chats a lot to keep up with friends and family. And as far as online play goes, I rearly play offline on my PS3. Games like MAG (256 players in one battle is insane) and Killzone 2 (fewer players, but fluid, insane graphix and little to no lag) keep me occupied when I’m not working or playing with the kids.

I’m no fanboy. I believe in owning all the systems. The Wii is easily the best family console, so it’s a must own (being that keeping eight kids entertained can become very expensive) and exclusives have kept me buying every available system since the Saga Master System popped up to challenge the NES. I just refuse to give Microsoft any more money for a system that had major issues that they knew about but didn’t correct pre-launch.

If your on the PSN, look for me as either T-Train-o-o-o-_ or Ninty9Ways2Die (note that Ninety is missing the “e” because of space constraints). Or send me a friend invite. Ninty9 is the profile I’m on most frequently but let me know who you are when you send the invite.

Yeah

I’m about to that point. I’ve got mixed feelings towards the Wii. There’s only a few games I could see myself spending a decent amount of time playing, the classics like Zelda and Mario. The Wii sport bowling game is pretty awesome though. Especially when you get a bunch of 20 something year old, highly competitive dudes around and add alcohol.

WILDCARD BITCHES!!! YEEEEHHHAAAAA!!!!!

by Acreman20 on Aug 12, 2010 8:34 PM CDT up reply actions

The Wii is great for entertaining the kids, but......

it’s not a system I spend any time alone with.

A little aside, PS3 has a downloadable game called high velocity bowling that is really awesome, imo. It’s a game that uses the motion control just like in the Wii. The base controllers for the PS3 use what’s called sixaxis, which is a motion control. You hold the controller like a bowling ball and let’er fly. I much prefer it to the Wii version. The sixaxis is awesome in FPS like Killzone 2, also, where you can move the controller to fine-tune your aim when sniping.

BTW, is anyone else having a problem posting messages? I keep getting errors when I hit post……….. :(

Must’ve been Madden ‘06 as I have ’07 and you’re a 1-year pro there, starting alongside Mike Brown, with rookie Danieal Manning as your backup. Ah, it feels good to win the superbowl against the Colts. Revenge is so very, very sweet, even if it’s virtual.
