I think he'll make it in 2012
In the 8th grade Mike Ditka won his school's Science Fair with a model of a working volcano. There were 17 other working volcano's made that day, but only one named Mount Ditka.

I read a few days ago somewhere that Peter King rates him as having the third-shortest odds to make it this year. I know, the same Peter King who said we were going to be in the Superbowl last season, but perhaps this is easier to call.

This needs to happen next year. He should have been a first-ballot lock anyway. Never seen a DE change the game like he did. And while I talk about Future HOF players, let me add Jimbo Covert as well. Ditka always said it’s the best draft pick that was made during his time as coach. But for right now, its “The Sackman” in the HOF.
