I do believe, sir...
The whooping that you inflict will be FAR inferior to the amount of whooping that gets put on you.

I tried to use the link
to get the discount, but my league in which I’m commish was already established. Do you know of any way to get the offer with existing leagues?

and one of the big “strategies” i guess if you call it that, which we’ve noticed for the last several years is the over-valuing of RBs in general. All of this is dependent on league format, but in traditional leagues, QBs have been de-valued as there was a previous assumption that QBs didn’t offer much separation amongst each other and a good one could be had late
With the eruption of the passing game in the NFL and the focus on passing to not only get ahead but to close out games, there has been more separation amongst the elite passers, but the fantasy community hasn’t really recognized it.
I would say in general, there’s more separation at the top of all 3 positions (QB, RB, WR) so if you can get an elite player at that position as opposed to just a good player at RB which is considered a more valuable position, it makes sense now more than ever.
Correlation with year-over-year production at RB is down and the committee system is really the primary reason. Owners drafting backs in a committee situation early in the 1st and 2nd rds (even highly skilled backs like D’Angelo Williams) are taking on very large amounts of risk
Take your risk on RB committees in the middle rounds and load up on elite QBs and WRs in the early rounds. If you can get a workhorse back, great you’ve got a leg up. But most fantasy owners continue to overvalue the RB position

Yeah...
My draft today (an 8-teamer) had me at 5 and I was able to go A. Johnson, Brees, and White in the first 3 rounds. At RB though I’m sitting LeSean McCoy and Knowshon Moreno. For an 8-teamer I’m stacked at WR, so I should be able to engineer a nice trade for a top-10 back.

I think the predominance of PPR leagues has played a part as well.
I’ve had to adjust the last couple years as I’ve always gone RB heavy. Planned to go WR in the 2nd this year, but I couldn’t pass up Steven Jackson in the mid 2nd, especially with Johnson already gone.

Not sure if it's as much the PPR league
as it is passing in general.
But as DCF points out, there are very few elite, every down, non-RBBC backs, so if you don’t get one of them you’re running a risk anyway; may as well get a top WR instead if the RB you get is only a couple points higher than the next guy on your list. That’s more the reason for the WR and QB surge, guys that’ll give you more points than a guy who has to split time.
PPR just means you’ll rather take a Reggie Bush or LeSean McCoy instead of a traditional up-the-gut like Brandon Jacobs.
Example of what DCF says, as my above post says in an 8-teamer (.5 PPR) I ran A. Johnson, Brees and White, but I was able to swing back and pick up McCoy (Andy Reid offense, starter, good pass catcher) and Knowshon Moreno. If I had taken Michael Turner with the 5 instead of A. Johnson, Johnson goes off in the next few picks. If I go traditional 2RB, then I end up with Mendenhall; or if I take my WR now it’s Calvin Johnson. Brees and Rodgers go off later in round 2, and then in round three my options are either Roddy White again or L. Fitz, or I’m on the Ryan Grant/Cedric Benson level of RB.
So instead of A. J., Brees, White, I’d be sitting Turner, Mendenhall/Megatron, and L. Fitz/White or Grant/Benson.
Obviously as an 8-teamer everyone’s gonna be super deep, but extrapolate that to a 10-teamer. Instead of Grant/Benson and White/Fitz sitting at round 3, it’s more PT Bruiser, Wells, DeSean Jackson and Greg Jennings. I know which set of two I’d rather pick from.

No, you're missing my point.
I wasn’t disagreeing at all. I was saying the rise of PPR has added even more value to WR’s. That combined with the decline of the workhorse RB makes choosing WRs early a much more legit option. I still believe in waiting on QB’s though, unless you land one of the top 3 or 4.
Oh, and you can’t view a league that you’re not in, so your link won’t work for anyone else.

Fair enough. I didn't say you were disagreeing though.
And I figured as much about the draft results, it’s no biggie. I was only trying to offer it up for discussion’s sake, as an 8-teamer it’s kinda worthless anyway, lol.

Well not sure this is the place but I'm posting my yahoo team here for thoughts
It’s a PPR league and on KR/PR’s 10 yards= 1 point. I picked 10th out of 12 teams. QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/R, K, DEF, IDP are the positions we start each week. And I’m the defending champ. :) () represent the round player was chosen.
QB- P. Rivers(4), B. Roethlisberger(14)
WR- R. Moss(2), DeSean Jackson(3), M. Sims-Walker(6), S. Breaston(12), J. Knox(10), D. Bess(15)
RB- S. Jackson(1), C.J. Spiller(8), R. Bush(7), D. Brown(11), D. McFadden(13)
TE- O. Daniels(5)
K- R. Gould(17)
DEF- Da Bears(16)
IDP- P. Willis(9)
Definitely some reaches in there. Would much rather have grabbed a QB in rd. 6 or 7, but Rivers was my best choice after the elites were gone. Also would rather have taken a TE a bit later but a run on them occurred at the beginning of the 4th, besides, if Daniels plays like last year and stays healthy it’ll be worth it.
Some steals were Knox, Bess, Breaston, and Roethlisberger in the rounds I got them , IMO. I think Jackson, Moss, and Jackson, 1, 2, 3 is a pretty good trio as well.

Steven Jackson is always a risk...
Jackson was my second rounder last year (After L. Fitz) and he always got me a fair number of points but not high-round worthy (we play a .5 PPR with KR/PR yardage points too). Until or unless Bradford can make something of Avery and Co., Jackson’s still the only true scoring threat on that team and will get keyed in on every game. Not exactly confident in the rest of the RB corp, but Bush is very nice for PPR.
On the other hand, love your QB and WR situation, and I’m a huge believer in Owen Daniels. Led the league in points as a TE until he got hurt. However, it was an ACL injury, so if it looks like he’s not quite up to speed yet, you may want to bench-stash him until he shows something. Just my two cents.

Agreed about Jackson and the health risk
He led me to a championship last year so I’ve got a little more faith in him than maybe I should. As far as the rest of the RB’s go: Fred Jackson and M. Lynch were both hurt in their first pre-season game(for how long they’ll be out I’m unsure) so Spiller should see a good amount of carries in the pre-season to prep him for when it counts. Plus he returns punts and kickoffs and is an amazing receiver out of the backfield. Like you said, Bush is nice for PPR. Between Brown and McFadden I’m just hoping one of them will breakout this year. I basically drafted them both for potential.
I also had Daniels last year and he was killing it week in week out for me. I was determined to get him this year. If he puts up anything close to what he was last year I’ll be squared away. As far as I see it I’ve got a great 1-2-3 combo w/ Moss, D. Jackson, and Daniels. Sims-Walker should put up decent numbers considering he’s JAX number one option. Breaston, Knox, and Bess are great 4-5-6 options as well.

Daniels
may not be ready for week 1, coming off an ACL surgery he’s a pretty big risk. I love Daniels talent too, but given the depth at TE this year, i’d rather have someone who hasn’t just suffered a significant knee injury and already had a setback

I see where you're coming from
Guess I’m hoping he comes back healthy. John Carlson is a FA in my league, I’ll more than likely scoop him up and drop McFadden or Bess.
