From Biggs 53 man prediction.
Shaw looks to be on the bubble but his production last season with 30 special teams tackles was overwhelming.
Shaw is a beast, I do not see the Bears parting ways with him.
What does the fact that last year’s starter Al Afalava is on the bubble tell you? Probably that there were some misevaluations of personnel at the position a year ago.
It’s nice to see someone in the MSM actually saying what all of us already know, some of the talent on the roster may have been misevaluated. Enter DMS rant below.

Lovie
If we get those third-and-longs during the course of the season, we’ll be in good shape
All I can say is Prove It!
D.J. Moore starts???
… If that’s the case, we are in more trouble than I thought. :-/

Don't worry...
if he doesn’t work out, we drafted his replacement Joshua Moore. Wait… what?!? DJ is only in his second season and was drafted in the same round, is about the same size and rated out very similar to Josh… great job Lovie and Jerry. I’m just glad we were set at OL.

Brad Biggs 53-man roster
I agree with his assessment of Garrett Wolfe and I said that early on in the offseason, but I disagree with him on Melton getting cut over Gilbert.
I’d LOVE to see Gilbert make it over Melton as I see him [Melton] being a “turd” with speed, but I think the coaches (and JA) want to see Melton do the “impossible” and be a future speed rusher.

That’s their justification for keeping him

He did, but I wonder if that was enough considering his offseason.
JD said on ESPN 1000 yesterday that he had a good week and the coaches are starting to talk about him now. Perhaps a lightbulb went on.

I Hate TMQ
All Easterbrook does is rant about stupid stuff for most of the column and talk about basically how much smarter he is than every other sports writer or journalist and then he makes predictions and is like “Yeah but I’m never right” just to protect himself from being wrong. Ugh. I’m sorry, I just cannot read him anymore.
"I was interviewing George Halas and I asked him who is the greatest running back you ever saw. And he said, 'That would be Red Grange.' And I asked him if Grange was playing today, how many yards do you think he'd gain. And he said, 'About 750, maybe 800 yards.' And I said, 'Well, 800 yards is just okay.' He sat up in his chair and he said, 'Son, you must remember one thing. Red Grange is 75 years old.' - Chris Berman

TMQ anymore is 30% football and 70% science ranting.
And 80% of the football is about “20-17 is the most common final score” and “Teams should go for it on fourth.” I’m so glad I don’t go to ESPN’s site anymore.

We're still waiting for it to eventually happen
Meanwhile, all of us have to sit idly by and accept the harsh, warranted criticism.

With the new offense it's all about timing
and so far he’s been last on most of his throws this preseason… I’m a little worried

yes, late!

thats actually why im not in complete panic mode
2 of the sacks and the first interception were the result of Cutler not throwing the ball fast enough. i for one was expecting a slow start on offense. there should always be someone open in this offense.
did you see how open knox was when cutler under threw him or hester was when he dropped it deep? and they beat rogers-cromartie, who is no scrub. other throws require timing, which will require time to establish. im just worried they wont develop the correct timing until too late into the season.
im more worried about the defense at this point. we need major wright to be very good.
There's also
a 95% chance that Clayton could be replaced with a shaved rat and nobody would notice.
“95% chance…elite QB”. I don’t even know what the hell that means.

IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO FIRE LOVIE!
I don't think it matters, if he keeps getting killed like he has been
The Bears will have a backup starting half way through the season.
"Sorry bro, he Jason Bourned me"- Drama
Jay has proven that he can play like an elite QB but...
That was in Denver with a better OLine and better coaching. He has always been a risk taker but he isn’t the only one. Guaranteed with a better OLine he will be the Jay we thought we were getting. I have faith in Jay because I’ve seen what he can do when he’s not running for his life and/or getting slammed into the ground. Plus he’s becoming the new Jason Campbell with all the new systems he’s had to learn. If the team doesn’t shape up then he’ll be learning a new one next year or whenever football starts again. When he gets stability I’ll judge him but until then I’ll continue to give him the benefit of the doubt…….. Although the poor decisions and interceptions have really been ticking me off.
I agree...........
people seem to be forgetting that this is also Jay’s 3rd offense in three years. That’s a ridiculous amount of change for any QB. Give the guy a bit of time. His decision making can use some work, but it takes a bit of time for a QB to get to a point where decision making, and what works, becomes instinct in a new system. It’s funny how most of the best QBs played in one system for most of, if not all of, their careers. Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Montana, Marino, Kelly, Fouts, Elway and so many more were in the same offensive systems for the vast majority of their careers. System shuffling has a lot to do with Cutler’s growing pains. This too shall pass………..

Or maybe it won't......
He could be facing his fourth system next year if Martz exits with Smith……Let’s hope the Bears management is smart enough to realize the damage that could cause to a guy they gave so much up for……..

Great points by both you and french
Jay hasn’t had the luxury of having stability at OC or any other coaching level. Hopefully, Martz stays for at least two years.

A touchdown in the endzone, over the goal line is 6 points – most of the time. I’m pretty sure.
