Lol that's fine
Let them drop us in the rankings.
Last i knew this wasn;t the BCS.
Idc if we are ranked 32.
Sneak through the season unnoticed, and destroy people in the playoffs.
I feel the exact same
You can poop on the Bears in every ranking available and it doesn’t bother me a bit..
Disrespect is fuel for the fire
What a coincidence.
ESPN just dropped in my ranking of credible sports sources. To dead last (not a big drop). I move that WCG collectively poops on them from a considerable height.

Matt Trowbridge to Website Editor
“oh, and one last thing, make sure my picture takes up at least half the page”
I also just noticed
There is a link in which you can purchase that picture of Matt Trowbridge. A framed Trowbridge picture makes for a great wedding, anniversary, birthday, Christmas, or Bah Mitzvah gift.
Scary picture indeed
Psycho much?
He did have a funny line though.
When was the last time former coordinator Ron Turner confused anybody? Or Terry Shea? Or John Shoop?
And confusing themselves doesn’t count.
I hope the Bears opt for...
Malast to take Hilly’s spot. I noted at the end of pre-season that he reminded me of Hilly at the time. IMO, it’s time for the Bears to look inward for talent and develop a guy who can get meaningful minutes alongside a great corps of LBs. I see the Bears are eying Wilson, but if he was that great, they’d have tried harder to keep him in the first place.
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO FIRE LOVIE!
Hey...
just “caught” this tidbit. Looks like the Bears are looking for a vet WR. And why not take a look at Adelius Thomas while they are at it? They need a LB who may not have to play too many minutes…hmmmmmmmmmm.
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO FIRE LOVIE!
because Adelius Thomas
shouldn’t be playing LB in a 4-3… he’s well more a 4-3 DE than a 4-3 LB.
Five foot three seems to thrive on his misery...

Perhaps...
but he did play in a 4-3 for most of his tenure in B-more. I could think of worse options, but I think, to your point, he doesn’t want to play OLB in a 4-3 either. He could be a mercenary, pass-rushing DE/OLB in a 3-4 for the right price.
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO FIRE LOVIE!
I disagree.....
Hid time in Baltimore was his best work, and they ran the 4-3, and very similarly to the way we run it. Adelius seemed to falter int he NE 3-4 defense. I would suggest that he is more suited to the 4-3.

I actually think
Winning the way we won on Sunday will bode well for us this coming Sunday. Mentally, the team, who surely will take the Dub, feels they possibly should’ve lost(although there was 25 secs remaining and 3 TO’s remaining). But my reasoning is, even though we are 1-0 we will have the attitude of having something to prove, by proving that the opener wasnt a fluke. Offensively, they wanna show that they CAN put up alot of yardage and points (there were three opportunities for SOME points without turnovers), and that they can run the ball. The Defense wants to show Hell YEAH, we are a top 5 D and any game is gonna be a struggle against us. They also prob feel like they almost gave the game away by playing the last drive poorly, so a chip will def be there. My point of all this is complanency. Lovie coached teams usually are complacent b/c he allows it, if not, the points I discussed would have no bearing b/c the team would always play like its their last down, or their last game. They will have that against Dallas I think, not because of Lovie, but because they feel they have something to prove.
nice thought

How's that decision to cut Tim Shaw
working out for you Lovie and Jerry? While we’ll probably end up with Malast, I think cutting Shaw was a bad move knowing that HH wasn’t 100%. I’m biased … I’m a Shaw fan.
Shaw never proved anything spectacular
while actually playing LB, though special teams got beasted.

Chip on their shoulder
I think the Bears will have something to prove on Sunday vs the Cowboys. I still want to see their corners and safeties play football, not stand there and watch the guy catch the ball. Calvin Johnson ate them up. I’d hate to see Witten , Austin, Barber make it a long day for the Bears secondary. Oh and when you come into the stadium, Bears players, DON’T look at the cheerleaders!
"It was a wise Man that invented Beer" (Plato)
can't really agree
Calvin Johnson didn’t “eat them up” he actually had a very weak game by his standards, not many corners or safeties are going to do much better against him this year, the guy is a beast.
45 yards isn't
eating anyone up, by anyones standards

I like the screen pass game
for the Bears. That could be very key for us going forward. We had 132 receiving yards off screens Sunday and I think that screens are how we can bat all out blitzes from the 3-4 teams we face this year (Dallas, Green Bay and the Jets).
"I feel like the pieces are in place. But we have to execute...It's about execution. You have to execute. You have to have a scheme that facilitates the strengths of your players. If it doesn't, then it's a bad scheme. It's that simple. So we feel real good about the parts in place on offense."
"We feel very good about this football team. We felt very good about our football teams in the past and it's no different. You've got to go out there and you've got to do it."

concurred
watching the LB’s change directions, and then start hesitating, and then slowing down or missing will be priceless.

The ONLY reasons the game was as close as it was due to....
1. Turnovers – if we don’t cough up the ball on the 7 and 23 yardlines respectfully, the Lions would not have scored their 14 points.
2. Prevent Defense on Detroit’s last drive – The Lions had a total of passing 148 yards per ESPN, approximately 45-50 of that was on the last drive. If the defense was not so passive on the last drive and had played like they had for the previous 3.9 quarters, the Catch/No-Catch play would not have even been an issue.
If we can prevent or limit the turnovers to 1 or 2 against Dallas we will be in position to take the game. If we keep coughing up the ball at inopportune times…it will be a long flight home from DFW.

Yeah.
We talked about it a lot in Lester’s post yesterday. It was a cover 3 with a blitz by the nickel back and Urlacher.

Yup
Just tired of everyone blaming it on prevent.
Had we really been playing prevent then there would have been a safety over Johnson and behind Bowman which means they don’;t throw it to johnson on the last play.
So people need to just stop with the prevent crap lol
Cover 3 is where the real problem lies.
Bahaa
Cover 3 isn't necessarily bad
I don’t really think that the Bears expected them to go to the end zone there.

Ok, maybe it wasn't prevent exactly...sorry, I'm not an X & O's genius...
But there was a dramatic change in how effective our defense was for the entire game less the last Detroit possession…
Maybe Lovie just wanted to ad drama to end of the game???

No need to apologize bro =]
Aye
The Cover 3 defence sucks imo.
Youve got your CBs 1 on 1 and one deep safety. Thats crappy
When facing CJ you should ALWAYS have safety help.
Common sense

Actually, the LBs Blitzed once....
on the catch that wasn’t play. Lovie referenced it as well. The D was getting tore up in soft zone on the last drive, so he said F it and tried a blitz. It failed, and Lovie got pissed because the media questioned having just Bowman on CJ. One blitz does not negate the fact that all the yards actually gained on that drive were against the soft zone.

From the Tillman article
We ran man (coverage throughout the game) and we weren’t doubled up on Calvin. It was one-on-one. When I got my pick, I was one-on-one with Calvin.
Did they pretty much shut down Calvin Johnson running man coverage.
Yes.

Can anyone tell me...
Why it is okay and nothing is even being mentioned about Phillip Rivers temper tantrum during the game Monday night?
If that had been Cutler, the media would have been all over it painting him as some whiney brat acting like a four year old in a candy store. I have never been a big Rivers fan but his facial expressions were not that of a team leader.

Waddle tore this dude a new asshole on his show yesterday.
The Chicago media has been talking about this for awhile now.
Both the Mannings are just as bad as Rivers.

I find +8 (down from +9) very tempting
Cowboys offense looked horrible in the preseason and even worse against Washington. If the Bears can score 14 points that line should be covered.
Cowboys won’t run on the Bears and if they were afraid to throw downfield against the Skins you know they will do the same against Peppers and the Bears. There will be lots of screens, quick passes to Dez Williams (especially with Lovie’s corners playing 8 yards deep), and Whitten in the middle. If the Bears corners can tackle I see lots of Dallas punts.
