Learning from McKinley's Death
Beautiful and moving article from Paige.
Worth the read.
In loving memory of Kenny McKinley, no longer ask "Why?" — ask "What can we do to save thousands of others in Colorado?"

Read this earlier
and was going to link this in the Den. Very, very real stuff from Woodey. Regardless of people’s opinion of his sports-writer personality, this is very touching, and very well written.

Powerful article, never knew Paige was suicidal.
They always say when a depressed person is suddenly at peace, it means their plan is probably about to go into effect. Keep a watchful eye on friends and loved ones.

Crazy to say the least
but it sure seems like the “life of the party” types are the most susceptible to deep depression. I had two good friends who committed suicide, and they both were very funny, very out-going people.

Great post.
Big fan of Paige’s. Depression is a very real and very scary thing. Hopefully something good will come out of this situation. My heart goes out to his family, especially his baby boy.
WILDCARD BITCHES!!! YEEEEHHHAAAAA!!!!!
Should I be concerned living in Col and having diabetes?
That night Dr. Schreiber prescribed one red pill. “What is this?” I asked the nurse. “I’m addicted to a lot of medications.”
“Benadryl,” she said.
“But I don’t have a runny nose.”
It turned out that I had diabetes, which causes low serotonin levels in the brain — and depression.
Is this excerpt insinuating that benadryl helps raise serotonin levels?
The article kind of hits home for me cause sometimes I find myself being really antsy when I’m not doing something I love, but I don’t think I’m depressed. With that said, it’s inevitable for a diabetic to suffer from mood swings based on unstable sugar levels we experience. Very, very interesting.
Nice find Allie.
