Brag Biggs reports that Edwin Williams has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster.

Williams was claimed off waivers from the Washington Redskins and will be taking the place of Johan Asiata, who is being placed on waivers.

"The team stashed Williams on the practice squad, but not for long. He was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster Monday. Williams has performed well in practice for three weeks and the decision was made to push him along."
