Bears promote Edwin Williams

Brag Biggs reports that Edwin Williams has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster.
Williams was claimed off waivers from the Washington Redskins and will be taking the place of Johan Asiata, who is being placed on waivers.
"The team stashed Williams on the practice squad, but not for long. He was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster Monday. Williams has performed well in practice for three weeks and the decision was made to push him along."

I thought Johan was almost a starter? Is this another mistake by the coaching staff?
How far a guy falls.
Another example of how the preseason means almost nothing, at least in terms of what we, as fans, see. Asiata goes from near starter to waiver wire in a matter of weeks, even considering how bad our O-Line has been. That’s a kick in the nuts right there.

well, at least williams is young, and can be developed by Tice.
