Come on Dan, think a little before you speak.

The Biggs article is one of the best I’ve ever read from him. GREAT, GREAT READ!!!

The Hayes article with the unnamed scout ripping Cutler is garbage. It’s obvious whomever the scout is (if it was a scout) has a personal vendetta against Cutler.

’’He’s got this everything-is-going-to-be-OK attitude. I don’t believe it for a minute. I think he lacks confidence in his offensive line and isn’t on the same page with his receivers.’’

Calm down Bronco scout or whoever you are… Stick your thumb in your mouth. That should help.

I like Opportunity Knox. He could be special, in the Torry Holt role.

N. Hayes is also the guy

who posted this story last week.

I’d be willing to bet that is what Olsen is calling BS on.

I know

He goes on to say how great Peppers is, and how T. Harris is primed for a good year, but talks about how “guys up front” matter the most to a defense, not LBs. Well, you just mentioned two guys that can be very special and make everyone in the secondary better!

He predicts the Lions will blitz the Bears just like Ron Rivera’s Chargers did successfully in the first practice game. He expects every opponent to follow suit until the Bears prove they can counter.

This is what concerns me about the opener. I’m hoping Martz has a lot of screens and draws lined up to counter these blitzes that are obviously coming.

I find Pompei to be pretty good and a credible writer most of the time

if this story is accurate, it just shows what a cluster**** this organization is.

dunno

i think the article actually makes the team look better – systems changed, hence iglesias was expendable, and gilbert never turned out to be the 3 technique guy they drafted him to play. iglesias really belongs in a west coast offense, and gilbert in a 3-4. we have neither. it happens.

Pretty cool if he wins "Comeback Player of the Year"
“He’s the leader. Everybody knows that,” Smith says. “To hear his voice every play, everything is going to be OK.”

No Lovie. Make proper adjustments. Then everything will be OK.

Example: Jam WRs at the LOS now and then. Definitely practice it first though.

by rdent4hof on Sep 6, 2010 9:27 AM CDT up reply actions

That would require Lovie to do that one thingy...

What’s it called? Oh yeah, change. Yeah he’d have to change. Not gonna happen….

If you can't laugh at yourself you must not be very funny.
I remain a pessimistically hopeful Bears fan.

Adapt to an opponent?

That’s a concept that’s beyond his stubborn persona.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for Urlacher to stay healthy and play at least to 80% of his younger potential…

I imagine he could tie a noose, too. Hmm…..

Did they school Cutler in givin interviews?

Is it just me, or has Cutler become much better at giving interviews?

I really sympathize with the way he talks about the pressure. He knows he threw those 26 picks last year, and he flat out tells us that he’s got to do a better job.

Also the part about hos old OC and Martz. Much more media savvy than we’re used to seeing him..

Look on the bright side, folks

At least we’re not in a situation where we find ourselves discussing whether or not adding Matt Leinart would be an upgrade.

This line struck me...

"We’ve seen this offense work several times in practice against our defense. We’ve seen what we’re capable of doing," Hester said.

I think the key phrase is…“against our defense.” They should not let that fool them into thinking it will work against any real NFL defense. The offense may actually be OK, but the Bears defense is arguably the weakest link on the team and will be the death knell for Lovie!

Glad to hear the Bears kept Barry Turner...

he’s got some upside as a back-up at DE. I think if Wooten flames out or goes on IR (my personal prediction) Turner should be brought in. He played against 2nd-4th string talent, but he was making plays and giving 150% on every play! I like this guy for a developmental DE waaaaay better than Wooten and Gilbert.
