It looks like we are getting into the ticket business. And based on the amount of requests I receive by email asking where to get tickets and what is the best place, this is probably useful to a number of you.
We've partnered with a company called TiqIQ to give you a chance to buy Chicago Bears tickets here. Soon, when you look at the top right of the site there will be a tab that says "Tickets" -- that will take you to our Chicago Bears tickets section.
TiqIQ isn't like the other tickets sites (which is the reason we chose them from the dozens of options we had). There are, in my mind, two major reasons they're the best fit.
The best thing TiqIQ has going for them is that they're essentially a search engine for Bears tickets. You can go to the ticket tab to check it out but they use four major ticket companies and you can search, at once, the best prices from those four companies. So basically they're pitting the ticket companies against each other to give you the best price. Not a bad deal if you ask me.
The other reason we chose TiqIQ is because we're going to be working with them to provide cool content every week. They have a lot of historical data on the prices of tickets, where people are buying tickets, how the prices rise against specific opponents, etc. So we'll use that information to put up some cool posts. Check out their blog to get a better understanding of what I'm talking about.
Here are a few more notes that you'll understand when you check out the tickets tab:
1. Aggregated Listings: They aggregate listings from sites like StubHub, eBay, Ticketsnow and TicketNetwork.
2. TiqZone Categorization: They break each venue up into TiqZones, which are groupings of sections that we've determined are comparable in value.
3. TiqIQ Statistics: They provide ticket-level buying intelligence through our IQ rating and TiqIQ Statistics.
What you need to know: If you want to buy tickets to a Chiefs game, click the tickets tab at the top. Even if you don't buy tickets from there it will give you an understanding of the going rate.
