Bears a better team than most anticipated last year

I used to come to this site, but things worked out where I got banned by Kev H and decided if I didn't have anything nice to say, that I wouldn't say anything at all. Well, the Bears are a really good team and what's most surprising to us Lions fans, is the fact that Marinelli and Martz of all people helped them become what they are. Just goes to show you how terrible of a GM Matt Millen was for Detroit ,eh?

The Bears have a great defense, Cutler is a pretty good quarterback with a big arm who can make all of the throws you would need to win the game. Matt Forte not only has breakaway speed, but he's hard to tackle and can catch the ball too. Devin Hester has officially become the best return man of all time and joins an underrated group of receivers for Chicago. I think the Bears have the ability to beat any team, offensively or defensively, based on what I've seen this season. I've also been impressed by the way the Bears have found ways to regroup that offensive line that was giving up sacks like hotcakes to become a respectable unit. The coaching staff deserves a lot of credit for getting these guys ready to play.

The Packers are also a pretty good team and I think they match up well with the Bears. The Pack has a top-5 secondary with Woodson back there, who can also blitz off the edge. Matthews is a beast, and obviously Aaron Rodgers is playing at a level that mirrors some of Joe Montana's numbers from the 80's. They have receivers that go like 5 deep with two really good tight ends, though one is on IR. This team also had offensive line issues early and have found a way to mask that problem, like the Bears, though injuries have plagued that unit.

This is going to be a really good game with two great teams from the same division competing to play in the Superbowl. Though I am disappointed that the Lions aren't in the playoffs  or ever been to a Superbowl, I am hopeful that 2011 will be a better year for us Lions fans as we did win our final four games in 2010. The Bears weren't even supposed to make the playoffs according to a lot of critics and yet, here they are looking a trip to Dallas right in the face. I'd be proud to be a Bears or Packers fans because they are both stellar teams. Good luck to you Bears fans, hope your team pulls through for you and you get to see a Superbowl win this year. I might even be in Chicago watching them if they make it to Dallas.
