It's too bad that the game ended the way it did, with Cutler going out and Hanie throwing that pick to end the game. It got interesting closer to the finish line when he threw that TD pass to Earl Bennet, but even with the Bears stifling defense that played extremely well, it couldn't help out that offense that had a 3rd stringer under center in the end.
Rodgers, though effectively early, also had a bad game because of that Bears defense. They played pretty remarkable after they adjusted in the 2nd half basically shutting the Packers offense out and making Rodgers force errant throws. Urlacher had that awesome pick and maybe a pick-6 if it wasn't for Rodgers tripping him up. The Packers were just a little better yesterday and perhaps if Cutler never went out with that injury, they might have had a chance to win it at the end.
Either way, Bears fans got a team that wasn't expected to even make the playoffs but won the division, got to the NFC title game and almost won. Cutler is a great young quarterback, they have a good offense under Mike Martz, and the defense/special teams has always been top-5 in the NFL. It has been a successful season for the Bears and I hope the Bears fans aren't too upset about losing. They did lose to one of the best teams in the NFL in a close slugfest. If I were a Bears fan, I'd be happy that they still have a pretty bright future with Lovie and his staff and that team.
Good game guys, better luck next year and stay proud of your team. They are still one of the best!
