Bears running back Matt Forte had another split season.  His performance was not great in the first half, in not small part due to the offensive line in front of him.  As the line and offense for that matter gelled, he had a much better second half.

Forte will be entering the final year of his rookie contract and would like an extension. 

It would be nice [to get the contract done]. It's always nice to have something like that happen. It's really up to my agent [Adisa Bakari] and the Bears to negotiate it.

I don't really know how the Bears compare to other teams in the way they handle their offseason, but one would be hard pressed to have issue with it.  Along with making big free agency splashes the last two years, the Bears are a very loyal team and make it a point to reward internally before looking to the outside.
