How Much More Can Cutler Take?

I don’t mean this to question his toughness, we all know he is one tough cookie to continually put up with this horrendous offensive line. But what I mean is, you have to wonder if Cutler is thinking right now that he’d be better off settling for less to go to another team where he can actually showcase his talent without having to worry about getting his neck snapped on every play.

You have to wonder if being with the Chicago Bears is not only hurting Cutler’s career (wasting his talent by giving him no support, no offensive weapons, no tools for success, and an offensive playcaller that wants to keep him anchored inside a crumbling death-trap of a pocket), but also potentially cutting his career short. Let’s face it, the human body can only take so much punishment, and I cringe every time Cutler gets hit because I’m so afraid that one day, it’ll be a hit hard enough to knock him out for the season, or worse.

The question is, what CAN be done at this point? Sure, getting Carimi and Bennet back will be a plus, but it won't magically solve our problems, not for an offense that's so far gone.  It's already too late to draft the kind of players we need to fix things mid-season (since Bear's management aka Jerry Angelo is a flaming turd).

Start by reigning in Martz.  Cutler works best when he can move out of the crumbling pocket and make plays with his feet.  Lovie, somebody, needs to step up and intervene.

What else can be done at this point, with the season already in full swing? I'm not even sure, honestly, because bear's management royally screwed us, screwed this franchise.  Again.

All I know is something has to happen, and happen now. SOMETHING must be done. This offensive line issue must be addressed.  Defense needs to get its act together.  And things need to change, or else we'll waste the true talent we've still got left.

Cutler deserves better. Forte deserves better. We Bear’s fans deserve better.
