Lovie Smith Faithful to a Fault
I can understand having faith in your guys, and wanting to send a message to your team that you truly believe they can get the necessary few inches for a first down, but for the love of God, you have to know by now that they can’t

We have a responsibility to hit the mandated 8 posts per day...
Thursdays we don’t have enough WCG articles, sooooo… why not pimp a little something something!

Or perhaps I need a
(/half-ass) tag.
As far as the actual article, I agree with your premise. I’m about 60-40 on liking the fourth-down call, however.

I would have loved the call had they made it...

If you can't move the ball 6 inches on any given play
you probably don’t deserve to win.
Is it Lovie believing in his players or Lovie asking his players to believe in themselves and go and get it done.

Again, going back to Week 1 of last season. Does Martz not have a QB sneak in his playbook?

Still won't work if you don't have the blocking & Suh was unblocked the majority of the time .

Yes, but his QB sneak involves a 7 step drop

Well hell I thought it was only 5 steps .

it really bothers me that we have Baber for these short yardage situations and yet we still put forte out there and continue to obtain the same results as last season and the season before that.

I guarantee that Marion Barber gets that first down
And even then, I like my chances better with a bruiser

That's not the point
If the line fails, it fails. You can’t use that as logic for not having the right personnel in.

I'm witchoo
- was brought here for exactly that kind of situation. Wasn’t he?

Huh
That was weird – I thought I wrote Number 24 was brought here… oh well…
Often Wrong, Never In Doubt.
I like Lovie as a coach.
But he is severely challenged in his use of red flags and timeouts. And why you leave Barber on the bench in a 4th-and-short, I have no idea.
Yea that made no sense to me whatsoever
Wasn’t Barber brought in to do that in the first place?
Jay Cutler is our QB, and I for one am proud of that

so do you really like lovie as a coach?
or as a person? i really like him as a person, wish he was my neighbor. i despise him as the bear’s head coach.
that about sums it up.
the challenge thing is getting REALLY annoying. TOs…that’s more a fault of the team, but as he’s the coch…blame ’im
not me
we could do a lot worse. Just think Josh McDaniels or Lane Kiffin. Lovie really isn’t all that bad, especially considering the talent (or lack there of) that JA has given him. I’m mean think about it. All the poor drafting JA has done and how many times has the team finished more than a game or two under .500 since Lovie came onboard?
