Rank our WRs

1. Dane Sanzenbacher (undrafted Rookie free agent who came here because he knew our poor WR corps. would give him an opportunity)

2. Devin Hester.

3. Earl Bennett

3. Johhny Knox

4. Kellen Davis

5. Roy Williams

6. Sam Hurd

I've always liked Hester (the U) and Sanzenbacher as a rookie is the best on our roster at catching the football (other then Forte). But both of those guys are best in a slot receiver roll. And while Sanzenbacher is one of the few young Bears with promise I once again declare that just as in as many years as I can remember, the Bears WR is one of the league's worst. Once again Forte will lead this team in pass catches.

How many of our wrs would start for another team.?

How would you rank our receivers?

Uhhh... no...

1. Matt Forte
2. Matt Forte
3. Matt Forte
4. Matt Forte
5. Earl Bennett (does everything correctly, even if not at an elite level)
6. Dane Sanz (I’m not prepared to anoint him over Bennett over 5 games)
7. Kellen Davis (he needs to improve tho)
8. Johnny Flyer (He nearly got 1,000 yards last year! But he also doesn’t run routes correctly, or fight for the ball)
9. Devin Hester (worse than Knox in every possible way)
10. Sam Hurd (Bennett Lite)
11. Roy Boy. (Can’t catch, can’t run routes, doesn’t fight, basically he sucks)

Out of our guys, only Earl would be a starting WR on any other team. Sanz would probably be a backup/STs player on any other team. Knox and Hester are Returners only. Davis might latch on as a TE2 somewhere. Roy Boy should be out of the league. Hurd is a ST contributor only.

Earl Bennett is not good

and he would not start for most teams

He catches the football when it's put on his hands.

You can not legitimately say that about any of the other Bears WRs.

dane sanz

bennett doesn’t do it enough to be “good”, undrafted rookie free agent sanzenbacher is already better.

agree to disagree i suppose, but bennett is decent at best.

Earl Bennett is our most complete WR

i have seen Dane drop passes when he gets hit and seen Bennett make very similar catches.

He fights for the football. Sanz is the only other guy that does that.

He runs his routes correctly. Sanz is the only other guy that does that.
He has no problems getting beat to hell to make a play. Nobody else on this team is willing to do that.

Like him or not, he’s the best WR on this team. And it isn’t even close.

Sanzi drops way too many passes

Hurd has made the catches he was supposed to, if he had more playing time, he'd be an easy one.

He has more size and speed than Bennett, better hands than Knox and Hester and more consistent than Williams…

The things about this list that make me go hmmm

1. Kellen Davis is not a WR, he’s a TE.
2. If you are including all players who catch passes, Forte goes to the top of the list.
3. Sanzenbacher first? He is a hard-working overachiever and Cutler certainly likes him when he really needs a completion, but to say he is definitively better right now than Hester or Bennett is dubious. But fans often overstate the value of players like Sanzenbacher because we like the little engines that could kind of players.

I always turn to the sports section first. The sports page records people's accomplishments; the front page has nothing but man's failures.

any consistency out of Heste rand I move him up

I freakin love the guy and have always thought he could be an amazing WR…. The inability of the Bears to get the ball in his hands and/or exploit his speed both short and deep has long perplexed me. The lack of other WRs has also allowed Defenses to “umbrella” cover him, negating his speed

by No It All on Oct 18, 2011 6:10 PM CDT up reply actions

All wrong. Forte doesn't count here since he isn't a "WR" and the list is topsy-turvy otherwise.

All of these guys have gotta reps this year, even Hurd. So with them splitting reps and the lack of protection its tough to tell.

1. Bennett – He’s not the biggest or the fastest but I still have Bennett as the best based on what he did last year.
2. Knox – Overall decent-good WR and speed to keep D honest. But should never run a slant route again.
3. Hester – If you looked as this like JA and included his All-Time return skills, he jumps to the top. Still think he should be in the slot.
4. R. Williams – Dropped cause of drops.
5. Sanzi – Loved it when we picked up this UFA, love it now but the rook has a dropped a few.
6. Hurd – Helped Jay and got open vs Det. More than a bench player, IDK.

Interesting

1. Bennett
2. Knox
3. Hester/Sanzi
4. Hurd
5. Williams

I’m thinking that maybe Bennett or Knox could find a starting role in Jax, KC or STL. Othere than that…

Vintage. Kinda like your K-Tel Record collection.
