bye-week RB issue.

Stevan Ridley (NE) vs. the Jets, Danny Woodhead probably won’t play due to injury.

or

DeAngelo Williams (Car) vs. the Saints, he sux this year.

standard scoring plus 1/2 point per reception.

by Mike Mueller on Oct 7, 2011 11:00 AM CDT reply actions

Williams Sucks this Year

Because of Newton, unfortunately.

Ridley showed good flashes last week, and if he’s in the lineup, I would probably play him.

Took the 'G' out your waffle, all you got left is your Ego.

I have D-Will on 2 teams

And due to injuries/byes am gonna start him in both. I figure he’s gotta score a TD eventually, plus the Saints blitz-D may make the Panthers run more (esp. since they had success on the ground against whoever they played last week)

If its free, take two.

by T.J. Shouse on Oct 7, 2011 1:08 PM CDT up reply actions

Ewww...

I’m thinking Ridley, but neither is a particularly good option. Ridley will probably get more opportunities, as DeAngelo appears to be around #4 on the team’s priority list, behind Cam Newton passing, Cam Newton running, and Jonathan Stewart.

by Doshi on Oct 7, 2011 1:32 PM CDT up reply actions

Should I start the Texans D at home against the Raiders or the Titans D on the road against the Steelers?

I’m leaning towards going with the Texans D because they’ve been pretty good and plus they’re at home. I know the Titans D has been good and the Steelers O has been coughing up the turnovers but I have a feeling that the Steelers O will play pretty well seeing as they’re both desperate and at home. Suggestions?

by frenchbears113 on Oct 7, 2011 11:32 AM CDT reply actions

I'd start the Texans

I used to be known as rdent4hof. Mission accomplished!

by 46buddy4hof on Oct 7, 2011 12:54 PM CDT up reply actions

I'd go with the Texans.

Granted, the Oakland offense is actually surprisingly decent. But I’m not sure how long that can last. They have Jason Campbell tossing the rock. He’s gonna make mistakes eventually. But Run DMC scares me…

by Doshi on Oct 7, 2011 1:34 PM CDT up reply actions

DeAngelo Williams vs. the Saints?

Or Mark Ingram vs. the Panthers?

Bye weeks suck.

by NorthSideBearsFan on Oct 7, 2011 11:35 AM CDT reply actions

I'd say Ingram vs the Panthers since they aren't great against the run.

by Ditkavsworld on Oct 7, 2011 11:47 AM CDT up reply actions

Ingram

he’s at least had a TD this year.

If its free, take two.

by T.J. Shouse on Oct 7, 2011 1:09 PM CDT up reply actions

Stream against the Panthers run defense.

Seriously. It’s that bad. And DeAngelo looks to be a 4th option in that offense. Even if Ingram is the #3 RB on that team, he’ll still get ~10 touches, and those can turn into points against the Panthers.

by Doshi on Oct 7, 2011 1:35 PM CDT up reply actions

Made three trades today in my work league

I get – for – They get
P Hillis – for – S Moss, P Harvin
C Benson – for – L Moore
M Colson, M Ryan – for – N Washington, M Ingram, B Jacobs, C Benson

My team got a total makeover and now looks like this:

QB: Matt Ryan
WR: Dwayne Bowe
WR: Marques Colston
RB: Matt Forte
RB: Peyton Hillis
W/R: BenJarvis Green-Ellis
TE: Rob Gronkowski
K: Robbie Gould
D/ST: Chicago (also previously traded Detroit to get them)

BN: Matt Schaub
BN: Isaac Redman
BN: Brandon Pettigrew
BN: Malcolm Floyd
BN: Open
BN: Open

I’m pretty happy. Your thoughts?

I traded Brandon Jacobs and got the Bears D last week.

You have a pretty strong starting group adn a decent bench I’d say you did ok.

Steven Hawking was paralysed after Mr. T pitied him so hard he was hurled through the air and crashed into an orphanage, killing 50.

by Ditkavsworld on Oct 7, 2011 11:44 AM CDT up reply actions

Except for Ryan, Colston, Forte, and Hillis

I have the same team as you (QB: Brees, WR: Greg Jennings, RBs: Ray Rice and Green-Ellis). I even have Pettigrew on my bench, too.

And I’m in first place in my league. So I’d say you’re doing pretty good.

by NorthSideBearsFan on Oct 7, 2011 11:50 AM CDT up reply actions

I like it

except trading away Ingram and benson leaves you thin at RB. The Firm is usually feast or famine, and Hillis is splitting more time with Hardesty. If Hardesty’s available, I’d pick him up as a handicap for Hillis, then I’d feel better about it.

If its free, take two.

by T.J. Shouse on Oct 7, 2011 1:11 PM CDT up reply actions

Just picked up Hardesty on my bench.

One more bench slot open, thinking either Jacoby Jones or Lee Evans.

And Law Firm’s been pretty good to me this year, so far. I’d have rather traded him instead of Benson, but the guy wouldn’t have gone for that. I’ve been weak at running back since I lost Jamaal Charles at the beginning of the year.

I'd say Evans

unless you need that spot to start. Jones will get some points until AJ comes back, but if/when Evans is healthy, he’s a starter that can get some points.

If its free, take two.

by T.J. Shouse on Oct 7, 2011 4:29 PM CDT up reply actions

Andre Johnson's injury couldn't have come at a worse time for me.

My other two starting WRs (Marshall & Boldin) are both on bye weeks, so I’ve got my two reserve WRs (Garcon, Henderson) in the starting line-up & dropped my reserve TE to pick up Kevin Walter (hoping he will take a lot of targets that AJ would have gotten). Do you think that’s a good move, or should I pick up another one of the FA WRs:
Hester (Det) Antonio Brown (Ten) Breaston (Ind)
Crabtree (TB)
Doucet (Min) Sanzenbacher (Det)
Louis Murphy (Hou) Randall Cobb (Atl)
Preston Parker (@SF)

Should I just roll with Walter this week & hope for the best, or do you guys think I’m better off picking up one of the above guys on the market?

Here’s the proper list:
Hester (at Det)
Antonio Brown (Ten)
Breaston (at Ind)
Crabtree (TB)
Doucet (at Min)
Sanzenbacher (at Det)
Louis Murphy ( at Hou)
Randall Cobb (at Atl)
Preston Parker (at SF)

If you get any special teams yardage

Then Antonion Brown is a good option as he actually gets targets and receptions (Sorry Hester). I am personally just not a big fan of Walters.

by Eggerbet on Oct 8, 2011 4:31 PM CDT up reply actions

In one of my leauges...

I’ve lost P. Manning, K. Britt, D. Amendola so far this year. And now Andre Johnson’s out for a couple of weeks and Santana Moss is on a bye.

So, I’m going with David Nelson, Jacoby Ford and Malcolm Floyd.

I did just trade LaGarrette Blound and Darren Sproles for Dez Bryant and Denarius Moore though, but that trade won’t go through until next week.

In a league where I missed the draft...

..I got Jamaal Charles, Kenny Britt, and Andre Johnson. I just plain missed the draft, so I didn’t even adjust the pre-draft rankings. It’s a QB-driven league (2 start), and one of my QBs who started last week was Mark Sanchez. He scored -12 points last week. Yes, NEGATIVE 12. If I had actually been drafting, my 1st round pick would have been Aaron Rodgers instead of Jamaal Charles. Rodgers scored 76 points last week.

7 Fantasy Teams AHOY!!!

Team 1 (0.2 PPCompletion, 0.5PPR, return yardage)

QB (start 2): Cutty, Cassel, Painter, Ponder (possibly Big Ben if I can swing the Waiver wire correctly). BTW, my 5th QB is Sam Bradford. Yeah, we go REALLY deep in this one.

Team 2 (0.5 PPR, return yardage)

Flex (start 1): Denarius Moore, Titus Young, Kendall Hunter

Team 3 (boring)

Flex (start 1): Cedric Benson, LeGarette Blount, (Bernard Scott if Benson is suspended)

Team 4 (0.2 PPEverything)

WR/Flex (bench 1): DHB, Titus Young, Andre Caldwell, Sanz
QB (start 1): Eli, Cutty, Freeman

Team 5 (0.5 PPR, big pass bonus, big rush bonus, return yardage)

Flex (start 2): Nate Washington, Dexter McC, LT, Mike Thomas (Andre’s injury left me scrambling)

Team 6 (boring)

QB (start 1): Schaub, Freeman
WR (start 1): Lloyd, Denarius Moore

Team 7 (espn boring)

Flex and 2 WRs (I’ve seriously got NO idea with this team): BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Julio Jones, Eric Decker, Deion Branch, Dexter, Denarius Moore, Nate Washington, Kendall Hunter, Stevan Ridley (Believe it or not, this is an 0-4 team…)

Thx for the help!

Terrell Owens

It’s waaaay too early to pick him up, right? Even if I’ve got a empty roster spot.

I'm on my second tier QB

and stuck with these choices. Would you start…

Kyle Orton vs. San Diego?

or

Alex Smith vs. Tampa Bay?

And why? I’m leaning toward neckbeard but want your opinion.

I’m in a league with two QB spots so there’s very little to choose from. Thanks.

by TheotherDane on Oct 7, 2011 1:49 PM CDT reply actions

I'll go with Neckbeard. At least for now.

He’s shown that, if you give him opportunity and time, he can put together some pretty decent games. His floor is probably 8-10 points in a standard setup.

Alex Smith sucks.

hey

if Hess is too embarassed to bring it up, the undefeated guy gets to gloat a bit. Although, I’d gladly trade my 4-0 in the WCG league with my 0-3 in a CBS money league. $30 down the drain.

Would you consider Adam to be the Virginia McCaskey of WCG? And if so, wouldn’t that make Dean the Jerry Angelo?

McCluster at Indy?

Team A:
Over one of the following… J Stewart, J Maclin, P Burress

Hightower and S. Moss are on a bye week leaving me pretty thin at RB/WR and 2 WR slots. Regular (non-ppr) scoring. The 2 RB slots are taken care of with McFadden and AP.

Other decisions for this team do not seem like they will make that big of a difference, but here they are as they currently stand. Any key info that I overlooked in these picks would be appreciated
QB: Brady over Newton
TE: Gronkowski over Finley
D/ST: Titans over Packers
K: Gould over Rackers

Team B:
Same scoring as A, but a sucky challenging team
QB: Hassleback (Romo bye)
RB: APeterson
RB: Tomlinson
RB/WR: H Nicks
WR: P Harvin
WR: N Washington
TE: Gronokowski
D/ST: Giants
K: GOULD

Available = J Maclin, M Lynch, B Jacobs(Doubtful), Titans

This is a rough bye week for me, for a team that’s not that good anyways. Any suggestions? I think I don’t have too much of a choice though in this 16 slot, 12 team league…
