Week 5, Bears At Lions Injury Report

One of the things that bothers me about Monday night games is that it seems like it's more work to get the injury report together. So this may be the one and only time I've ever visited the official Detroit Lions web site. Don't say I never did anything for you folks.

Over on our end, there was a bit of a surprise when Corey Wootton showed up to practice on Friday with his hand wrapped. He didn't practice on Friday, but fully participated today. In fact, aside from Gabe Carimi and Earl Bennett, everyone on the Bears fully participated.

In Detroit, Rashied Davis won't get a chance yet to get revenge on his former team, as he's out with a foot injury. Linebacker acquisition Justin Durant suffered a concussion but is listed as probable. Both starting safeties are listed on the report - Amari Spievey is questionable with a hamstring injury and Louis Delmas is probable with an abdomen injury. Also appearing on the report is Calvin Johnson, probable with an ankle injury - yeah, something tells me it's nothing.

So here is the question:

Do we go with Lance Louis at RG and Frank Omiyale at RT, or do we go with Chris Spencer at RG and Lance Louis at RT?

Jay Cutler is our QB, and I for one am proud of that

So do we use Gate 68?

Only if O’Hare needs another terminal for passengers.

Or if Detroit needs a lineman. The trojan lineman should be an allowed NFL play.

Spencer/Louis.

It worked last weekend, it shouldn’t fall apart this weekend. And Gate 68 should NEVER AGAIN start in the NFL.

Suh's a step up in difficulty over whatever that was Carolina trotted out.

You sure you want a potentially one-armed Spencer trying that?

CJ has been on the injury list for a few weeks...

before I believe it was a deep contusion and it just switched to ankle I think before the cowboys game.

What did you all think of Rashied Davis when he was a Bear? All the articles on him thus far seems to indicate that he’s a great “glue guy” and has provided a valuable veteran presence in the lockerroom to our reasonably young team. It seems he’s already a favorite for Lions fans despite mainly contributing on special teams. I wished for his sake that he got a chance to play against his former team. It seemed like he was cut in a similar fashion to Kreutz, although with less of an impact to your team I guess.

Oh and the point I was making with CJ is that you're absolutely right...he seems to play with "injury" for the majority of the season

makes sense considering he has absolutely no conscience for his body on pass plays so he comes down hard a lot of the time or in awkward positions.

Davis excels on special teams and is a serviceable fourth or fifth receiver.

He was known for three things. Special teams, dropping passes (although his hands really aren’t that bad…), and for getting the Chicago Bears logo (the complicated one, not the C) done into his hair.
