I'm benching Bowe this week
since Cassel will be out. Don’t know if I’m gonna start Daniel Thomas or Bennett in his place. I’m leaning towards Thomas for now.
You're never a loser until you quit trying - MIke Ditka
I'd start Bowe anyway
He’s the biggest target KC has and that’s who inexperienced QBs usually go for. I’d probably start Bennett over Daniel Thomas.
Got two questions - one of the sit/start variety, and one regarding a potential trade.
1) I got several options for my flex. On my roster are Sidney Rice, Percy Harvin, Mike Williams (TB) and Daniel Thomas, and I could also reach into the free agent pool for Jackie Battle or Laurent Robinson. ESPN standard scoring league. Thoughts?
2) In the same league, I got offered a trade of Aaron Rodgers and Larry Fitzgerald for Ray Rice and Matt Stafford. I would receive Rodgers/Fitzgerald. Here’s my current roster:
QB: Stafford, Tebow
RB: Rice, Fred Jackson, Mendenhall, Daniel Thomas, CJ Spiller
WR: Vincent Jackson, Desean Jackson, Sid Rice, Harvin, Mike Williams
Other: Owen Daniels, Bears D/ST, Gostkowski
I think I have a pretty deep and balanced team, so I’m not exactly desperate to make a move. Also, my odds of making the playoffs are really high, so I’m looking towards the playoffs (which occurs weeks 15 and 16 in my league). For that reason, I’m a little concerned about Rodgers since the Packers might sit him down the stretch if they lock up the #1 seed early. So with all that said, do you guys think this is a good trade for me?
Pat Riley is the devil.
Hate to say this
but I’d decline if your basically making the playoffs. Unless you add a WR (yours) and RB (his) to the mix.

You can always try
to get Arod and Fitz for Jackson and Stafford. May not bite, but it’s worth the try.

If he's got an RB2...
Try and see if he’d do this…
Arod, Fitz, RB2
for
Staff, Rice, and D-Jax
I don’t see D-Jax having a great second half due to Vick being Vick.
I was just reading an article
about how Rice’s opponents during the last 3 weeks are the easiest of any running backs. Stafford also will be going up against some of the easiest pass defenses during that stretch. If you’re likely to make the playoffs, I’d keep them over the uncertainty of Arizona’s quarterback and Rodgers sitting at the end of the season.
For your flex this week, I’d go for either Sidney Rice or Laurent Robinson, simply because those are the two players most likely to score a touchdown.
Moore or Vjax in a ppr?
As of right now I’m starting the former, cause I think the Bears thrive at stopping big passes. Vjax doesn’t do much in any other regard. Vikes on the other hand have given up 11 passing TDs this season, and are down Winfield.
In a different league, Harvin or Roddy? Also ppr.

To your first question, I think it's kind of a toss-up
The Bears’ pass D is looking pretty good right now, but the Chargers love to throw the ball, so Jackson will get opportunities. I like Moore a lot too though.
To your second question, Roddy hands down.

He's so boom or bust it's maddening.
Jennings has been very good this year (6.5 ypa), and matches up with him. Another tough matchup for Vjax.

I agree with Polo
Roddy by a mile over Harvin.
It’s hard to sit VJax, but I have a really good feeling about Moore. You can book Vincent for at least 70 yards. However, I watched Oakland’s last game, and Palmer loved going to him. As a Bears fan, I’d probably pick Moore just so I didn’t have to root for anybody on San Diego.
With Vjax
The thing is they only target him deep, so naturally, he doesn’t have a high percentage of success. 70 yards is no gimme for him cause he has 6 games out of 9 under that amount. Especially with the way the Bears play defense.

You are correct. He's more hit or miss than I thought he was.
Moore looks even better, then.
I'm going Moore
I’ll probably regret it, but Rivers hasn’t targeted him in short and intermediate routes very often. Look for Gates and Brown to continue to get the passes in the middle of the field.

You're going to grind this "notch" thing into the ground, aren't you.

I have Bennett, VJax, Victor Cruz and Jennings. I think its a good week to start Bennett over VJax. I think he will have a Peanut allergy this week. What say you good ppl? I can play 3 of the four.
I wouldn't do it
VJax has too much upside to leave on the bench. I also think it’s a safe bet that San Diego will be throwing the ball a lot more than the Bears. I’d leave Bennett on the bench

I feel you. But VJax did nothing last week and I lost by 10 with Bennett on my bench. Its a PPR league so Bennetts many catches outscored Jackson by 16 points last week.
by GentlemanJack on Nov 19, 2011 12:23 PM CST up reply actions
PPR does change things
in Bennett’s favor.
Don't hate me.
I need to pick three for a 0.5 PPR league. Matt Forte, Michael Bush, Fred Jackson, or Demarco Murray. Currently I have Forte, Jackson and Murray assigned.
I think you have to bench Murray
Everyone says he’ll be the primary back, but who really knows what happens if Jones plays. You really can’t go wrong with any of them.
"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader" - John Quincy Adams
I disagree. Stick with what you got.
Murry has been a monster lately and Jones inconsistent. I think they’ll ease Jones back in after injury and Murry will still get the bulk of the work.

Big Ben is my starter, he's on his Bye week
Hasselbeck or Flacco are my choices?
I have:
These RBs:
Maurice Jones-Drew
Kendall Hunter
James Starks
Beanie Well
Jackie Battle
and these WR:
Mario Manningham
Earl Bennett
Damian Williams
Eric Decker
I’m starting MJD, Hunter, Manningham, Bennett, and I have Starks in the flex, any suggestions? (I am still holding on to Reggie Wayne hoping he connects with Orlovsky)
I was taking a look at Mccluster, who is on wavers, but i’m iffy on that one with how bad the chiefs are.
Let us cavort like the Greeks of old! You know the ones I mean.
I'd start Beanie over Hunter
The 49ers are a tough matchup, but you just can’t assume Hunter will get more than 5-8 touches.
Pat Riley is the devil.
Haha
talk about duds, Hunter got 3 points and Beanie got 1 point. I started Hunter btw.

Laurent, no questions.
In all formats, Laurent is no worse than a WR2 this week. WR2 is Bennett’s approximate ceiling in non-PPR formats. Laurent is the clear #1 on his team as long as Austin’s out (and the clear #3 when he’s in, strangely), and he gets a TON of targets, especially in the RZ. While Bennett is the clear #1 on his team, he won’t get as many RZ targets for some strange reason, and the Bears have a plethora of league-average WR2s that Martz loves to feed. Go with Laurent. Start Bennett unless you have another clear WR1 on your roster.
Well Bryant is the Cowboys #1 but you make valid points.
I already started Santonio Holmes and of course his QB screwed me over cuz Sanchez couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat. I have Victor Cruz as my other receiver and was torn between Robinson and Bennett.

They at times seem to forget that he exists.
He’ll be awesomesauce for 2 quarters, and disappear for the other two. Those targets almost always go to the other WR out there. For some odd reason, they only give Dez 5-7 targets a game.
