Bear fans, I need for you to give me your personal and utmost honest insight on Greg Olsen based on your experience watching him play as a member of your team.
When the Panthers first signed Olsen I was ecstatic and still am but lately he appears to be a bit "soft" and by soft I mean that he seems to not be coming up with some of the balls that require some physicality with the defender. Overall he's been a great addition but it seems as if this concern keeps reverting itself sometimes on Sundays.
So, since you guys have had the opportunity to analyze him and his playing abilities for a longer time, I thought I'd ask you.

you got that right
The constant criticism from Bears’ fans was that he was always taking the safe route, especially for being a Tight End. I am all for players trying their best to stay healthy, but not if it affects the outcome of the team on game day. Bears coaches and management realized the fans’ opinion on Olsen too, and traded him while he still had value.
The TE’s the Bears have now are more physical and don’t shy away from contact.
Yeah, the reason I ask is because we also have Shockey playing a big role in our offense.
As oppose to Olsen though, he seems to be more reliable because he’s more physical and comes up with the big catches. Olsen just lacks some of the aggressiveness that Shokey possesses but I guess it’s a good combination. However, Shockey isn’t going to be here for much more significant time, I say that they give him another two year contract extension, so Olsen better become more reliable.

Yeah, Olsen was hit or miss
He would make some great catches but drop some easy ones. Didn’t really ever feel like a true TE to me.
I would've liked him more if he weren't a 1st round pick
He’s always been a below average blocker for a TE, which is fine as long as you’re elite at receiving. And Olsen was just okay.
Despite having exceptional athleticism for his size, he rarely did anything exceptional. You should have a capable tight end for awhile, but I don’t think he will live up to his pick.
This
had he been a 3rd or lower pick he’d be a great pick…as a first rounder he was an underachiever. Nice player, solid in the redzone, but for his size speed combo never seemed like a mismatch, never really broke any tackles or made tough grabs in traffic

Olsen is an excellent RAC receiver with size as a tight end.
As a tough, reliable receiving tight end, not quite. He needs space to work.

Well we used to call him 'Charmin'
That should give you an idea how we felt about him. After the catch he was brought down easy by small db’s a lot of times.

I hope that working the fiery Steve Smith rubs off a bit on him.
Shockey is also a very aggressive tight-end with a fiery spirit. Hopefully he learns how to make the tough catches and get some YAC.
