Ask A Chiefs Fan - "Da Bears" Edition

Goooooooooooooooooood Morning, Chicago! As the week unfolds and atention on both Chicago and Kansas City turns to the upcoming huge matchup between Da Bears and Da Chiefs, no doubt a number of questions and thoughts will surround these two teams, especially since Da Chiefs have not only picked up but will apparantly be starting former Bears QB Kyle Orton.

Da Chiefs, as many of you know, are in the midst of a fairly tough stretch of games, having already lost to Da Patriots and Da Steelers, with games coming up against Da Bears, Da Jets and Da Packers. Da Chiefs, of course, have already lost to such powerhouses as Da Bills and Da Dolphins, not to mention Da Broncos and others, so at least we're used to it by now, even if we don't particularly like it.

And so, any questions you have about Da Chiefs or any of our so-called players (ok, we DO have a few real ballers out there, as well as several guys who make you want to go "huh?") we're here all week (don't forget to tip your waitress!) to answer any query you throw at us (which is no guarantee that we'll actually catch anything, kind of like our WR group ... and hey, try the veal, it's delicious!)

A salute here to Da Bears and the fabulous tradition of the franchise, from Papa Bear Halas to Sweetness to Da Fridge ... fire away, people ... it's time for Da Fans to hammer it all out before Da Teams do so on Da Field.

with all due respect upamtn, This should not be a huge match up by any means.

Even with Hanie looking terrible the first half against the Raiders we should be able to take care of the Chiefs no problem. Nothing against you guys and your Chiefs but this is the last game that Im worried about on the Bears schedule. On a side note, I really liked Jon Baldwin coming out of college last year. What are your thoughts on him?

Wouldnt it be funny if we had another DE with the last name Salters!

by fortefan09 on Nov 29, 2011 10:47 AM CST reply actions

The Chiefs offense turned the ball over 4 times, and the defense only allowed 13 points

If the Bears defense was great/elite against the Raiders when the Bears offense turned the ball over 3 times, and the defense allowed 25 points, the Chiefs defense is legendary.

The Bears should win this game, but it will be an interesting matchup.

by BusterK on Nov 29, 2011 12:34 PM CST up reply actions

could be interesting ... Bears at home should be better, and Chiefs on the road, well ... not so good

if Orton plays like a man possessed and has an understanding of the offense and the routes and manages to light it up some early on, yeah … could be a competitive game and anything could happen

on the other hand … well, I don’t like looking at that hand very much and call for a re-deal

fortefan, with all due respect I'm pretty sure Da Bears will crush, annihilate and otherwise completely destroy Da Chiefs

… but they still have to play Da Game so who knows, maybe THIS Sunday will be one of thoe ANY GIVEN Sundays that I hear rumors about

but I doubt it

Not to be picky

but I’m gonna have to throw the flag on you for over use of DA. DA should only be used when describing all things Chicago, DA Bears or DA Coach. Anything else is a no go… Example…. DA Packers <—————- Big no, no.

Agreed!

Only the DA BEARS and the Great City of Chicago can use the word with such grace! With that flag, you get a 15 yard penalty and a loss of down. Possibly a suspension after Goodell issues a few games to Suh.

Also, has anyone seen him grabbing some KC BBQ with a bottle of Jack?

Dexter McCluster:

I drafted him in my FF (late, like 12th round or so), I was expecting a little bit more then a gimmick player, even before the JC injury. Are you guys as disappointed as me about it?

Bears. Bulls. White Sox.

by The Voiss on Nov 29, 2011 9:36 PM CST reply actions

I'm disappointed ... maybe that's just me, or "too high" on expectations

… mabe he’s being used wrong for his talents, dunno

the guy is a burner, super-quick and can make even very talented defenders miss with some of his juke moves, but he’s not a “typical” RB, his small size hurts in terms of having him try to block LBs, and he tends to get “lost in space” when he’s in the slot with all those big OL and DL around (then too, Cassel couldn’t spot his 3rd receiver option if the guy had a giant blinking neon arrow over his helmet that said “THROW BALL HERE”)

he’s fabulous as a return guy and is a threat to take any kick or punt “to the house” if he gets even a tiny bit of space, so there is that aspect

but overall, he’s not been the “offensive weapon” that many of us envisioned him to be (part of that might also be due to Jamaal Charles being out for the year, along with our best catching TE Tony Moeaki … other defenses can “key” on Dex and there haven’t been many other options available)

How do you think of that trade for Jared Allen?

It can’t be too bad can it? I attend college in Minnesota, and all I hear people rant and rave about is how Jared Allen is a beast, how he ropes up imaginary calves left and right, and how he spear hunts random animals in his free time. It’s almost sickening considering how piss poor the ’Queens are this year…

by bmasson11 on Nov 29, 2011 11:27 PM CST reply actions

overall it's been good for KC as we did end up with Jamaal Charles out of the deal, one of the best in the league (when he isn't hurt)

meh, Allen isn’t much of a hunter compared to Alvin Bailey, rookie DL the Chiefs got this year … dude grew up on some tiny island off Florida and is used to hunting and killing and eating alligators and other animals that make whatever Jared Allen does look tame

we’re happy with what we have from that trade

Tell us more about Todd Haley

and how he is behind closed doors. I heard he eats people, is this true?

by Midway Bully on Nov 30, 2011 7:52 PM CST reply actions

thus far Haley has not consumed anyone that we are aware of, however not EVERYTHING that actually happens "behind closed doors" is reported, or reported in full

… and there have been a few players that have seemingly “disappeared” for weeks at a time so it’s entirely possible that yes, Haley does indeed eat people (he certainly chews out a lot of players on a regular basis, so there’s that)

Carolina is known for pulled pork, Texas has their hot links and brisket. What’s KC known for? Baby back ribs?
