Im going to have to start this out by saying that its extremely obvious that we need to extend #80. There is no doubt in my mind that he needs to stay a priority along with Forte. But with that said, Let me explain to you why I think Bennett could be a huge piece of the puzzle.
Obviously we all saw how he did vs the Eagles. And a usually good secondary at that. One could say that Bennett hasnt done that much and that he has been on and off the field over the last couple of seasons and its all true in a way. But my reasoning behind saying that he should be a priority is because what I saw after the game last night. While Cutler was being interviewed post game one of the reporters asked him how it was to have Bennett back at WR. I have never in the 3 years that Cutler has been with the Bears seen the look on his face that he gave back to the reporter. If you get a chance watch the interview and you will see what I mean. It was one of those giddy (I just won the lotto but dont want to say anything until I turn my ticket in)looks. Which is exactly how I feel about Bennett being a part of this team. I feel like something big is about to happen between him and Cutler. Not only is the man consistent with his hands but to watch him catch the ball and get the yac that he does is ridiculous. Minus the speed, and I hate to compare to this but it kind of reminds me of a similar situation with our rival team up north. Take a look at Rodgers and Jennings. Jennings is very similar in size, runs great routes and catches the ball 90% of the time. Im not saying that its happening yet but mark my words now that I foresee something very similar happening if Bennett stays on the field.
