Chicago Bears place Jay Cutler and Matt Forte on Injured Reserve
The Chicago Bears announced today that the team has officially placed QB Jay Cutler and RB Matt Forte on Injured Reserve. While this isn't surprising, it does free up two of the 53-man roster spots (Roster update provided at end of article).
Cutler and Forte join an IR already comprised of:
- Chris Williams
---------------------------------------------
No word yet on whether the Bears plans to promote anyone from the Practice Team, but if I were a betting man, I'd say it was just a matter of time. Stay tuned...
UPDATE: The Bears have filled the two open positions... DT Jordan Miller has been promoted from the PS, and OG Masfield Wrotto (formerly of the Seahawks and Bills) has been signed to the active roster. Think Tim Ruskell had anything to do with that one?

Not a shock.
If they promote people from the PS, doesn’t that make them ineligible to return to the PS? So if they move them up for one game, they can’t be sent back to the PS next year, can they?
I believe the limit is 8 games of NFL service time
before they become PS-ineligible.

Wow, 7 starters on IR
Including two starting lineman and our starting QB and RB. No wonder we’re gonna be 7-9.
If its free, take two.
it's amazing to me that they even made it to 7-9

Yeah
Did you see them play last week?
They are going to be a team to watch for in the future. Ponder is the real deal

Hey now, they've got a lot of holes...
And let’s see how AP’s knee recovers. And not taking anything away from Ponder, but Joe Webb is a guy that scares me. The Bears defense seems to have the answer for running QBs, but I hope Minny’s coaches don’t somehow develop that guy into a starting QB.

Hopefully they will be back and ready to rock next year

Epic proportions
Are made proportionally more epic, when the 3rd string players seem to be outplaying 2nd string players.
