Chicago Bears Sign CFL Receiver Andy Fantuz

Stay connected for news and updates

The Bears have signed Canadian Football League wide receiver, Andy Fantuz.  He is signed to a reserve/future contact.

The 6-4, 220-pounder, who spent the last five seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, caught a career-high 87 passes for a league-leading 1,380 yards and six touchdowns in 2010.

Fauntz has recently worked out for five other teams before signing with the Bears.  Those teams were the Bengals, Bills, Patriots, Steelers, and Patriots.

Apparently, the Bears are loading up on CFL players as Fantuz is the 10th one signed in recent weeks.

The others are guard Johan Asiata, cornerback K.J. Gerard, tackle Levi Horn, linebackers Chris Johnson and Patrick Trahan, fullback Eddie Williams, quarterback Matt Gutierrez, receiver Onrea Jones and defensive tackle Tank Tyler.
