We've all known her; the angry, jilted lover who carries the grudge far too long. All the while, she insists that she's over him. For the sake of this post, lets call her oh, I don't know, how about Miley? Miley High. That seems like a good, random name.
This is the girl who just can't move on, can't let go, can't accept that it's over. Even though it's been years, she carries this grudge, consumed with rage for this former beau who she can no longer have. She still calls sometimes late at night. She hangs up and cries herself to sleep. The next day, the anger begins anew.
Every time something bad happens to him, she boasts of his bad luck gleefully. Every new girl who doesn't work out for him, Miley embraces as a victory. Of course, she never stops to realize that while she clings to this hatred, her life is moving on without her. Miley has a new guy, but despite her protests, she knows deep down he's not the one. She talks about how great he could be, and what a great job he's going to have. She ignores the fact that he still has a paper route. He's working towards a degree at an online university that has existed for about 12 weeks. But that AA in Communications is just the first step towards his brilliant career as a neurosurgeon.
It's time to move on, Miley High. You had your chance, but you blew it. You let your crazy step-dad drive him away with his antics. If you would have made step-dad stop trying to whore you out to his best friend, you might have been able to work things out, but you didn't. You let him walk away, and then the best friend shot you down as well. Now you're stuck sitting there like Jack Tripper after blowing his chance with Janet and Chrissy, and having to settle for a drunk waitress at the Regal Beagle. If you don't let go of the past, you'll only end up blowing your chance when Terri finally comes along.
