Worst Bears Draft Picks of All-Time: RB Rashaan Salaam
A Heisman Trophy, a 2,000 yard rushing season at Colorado, and a unanimous All American selection led the junior to declare for the NFL Draft. A promising rookie season in Chicago setting the franchise rookie rushing record had some Bears fans thinking he would be a special player. But we would be wrong... very wrong...
Salaam had a problem hanging onto the ball as his nine fumbles as a rookie can attest. He only played 2 more years in Chicago and had 14 fumbles in 31 career games as a Bear.
The entire 1995 draft was pretty bad, but Salaam as the 21st overall selection ends up on the Bust list.
Where would you rank him all time Bears Busters?

I would say he is the second all time biggest bust in Bears history
Of coarse no one trumps Cade McNown as far as draft busts go!
Anyways what makes him such a bust is not only was he a major dissapointment, he became one only after a promising ( real promising ) rookie season. To go and break a HOF RB’s record only to essentiually be the poster child of both fumbiltiltis and the injury bug at their worst, to me is almost as bad as Cade McNown ( almost!! ).
Jay Cutler is our QB, and I for one am proud of that

least we forget he also had that blood-line thang going, his father Teddy Washington played RB for the Bengals in the 70's
He rushed for 1074 yards in 95 a Bears rookie record at the time. In 96 and 97 he was injured most of the time. Again bad luck

I'd put him as the third biggest bust
After McNown and Enis. Enis had less TDs, less YPC and was out of the league after the Bears cut him, whereas Salaam got one last shot with the Browns, well, barely, he appeared in two games in ’99. Enis flamed out. That too me is a bigger bust.
Jay Cutler is still my quarterback.
