Around SBN: Indy 500: 'Greatest Spectacle In Racing' Set For Sunday

Urlacher is the second of four Bears voted in by the players.

First in was Lance Briggs at #92.

From here, I'm expecting to see Devin Hester & Julius Peppers to round out the four Bears voted in by their peers.

I think he should be Top 20, he had a great season.

But they didn’t ask me so oh well.

between 8-4 Years ago, he is definetly top 20

Today, 49 is just about right. He is still top 3 MLB in the league and a fantastic football player. my personal favorite Bear and probably will be for a long time.

Top 50 is a good place for him

If you go in the bathroom, turn off the lights, and say "Da Coach" 5 times while facing the mirror... Ditka will appear and slap the wussy right out of you.

As far as the "old guard" MLBs, he's probably top 2 with Ray Lewis.

There’s probably a couple of the younger guys more talented than these guys right now. But Lach and Lewis are both future HoFers if they continue their careers like they have.

briggs was way too low

i feel Lach should have been in top 30 because throughout the whole year he was a favorite for defensive player of the year

Way too high or low

For being one of the best, if not the best WLB in league, 90 is a slap in the face of Briggs.

I'm hearing you guys on Briggs
  1. in run stuffs since coming into the league.

by rdent4hof on Jun 7, 2011 7:19 AM CDT up reply actions

That doesn't look right

No one has more run stuffs than Briggs, since he came into the league.

unfortunately,

run stuffs isn’t as sexy as sacks

I wish it weren't that way.

While we’re on the subject. TFL (tackles for loss) should be a stat more talked about.

The offensive guys get so much love.

Pretty sad

I suppose watching a pass-rusher sack an unathletic player is like witnessing a mature cheetah kill a juvenile gazelle.

Nice analogy proph

I’m still happy with watching a mature grizzly (Briggs) decapitate an adult deer (victim ball carrier).

Nice

I wonder how well Briggs would do as a 3-4 OLB?

If Hester is rated above Urlacher...

…I’ll puke. Love me some Hester, but even the greatest kick returner of all time is not better than one of the top middle linebackers in the NFL. Sorry.

it's a players vote...

Hester is a game changer that every opposing player gets up to see him on returns during games.
