2001-2010 All-Bears Team: Linebacker #3
After this, just one safety and one cornerback to go on defense... Cornerback on Wednesday, then the Safety will go up on Saturday. For now though, let's get the third linebacker. Who's joining Urlacher and Briggs? Follow me past the jump for our last look at the candidates...
Oh, and you can still vote for the first safety spot right here!
Hunter Hillenmeyer: 5th-round draft pick of the Packers in 2003, never played a snap for them, joined the right side the same year. Eight-year Bear, played 13 games in every year except 2010 (concussion symptoms). NFLPA representative. Very serviceable starter, filled in at MLB when Urlacher was
Rosevelt Colvin: Played for the Bears from 1999 to 2002 as a fourth-round draft pick. In 2001 and 2002, played all 32 games with 28 starts. 21 sacks, two interceptions, six fumbles forced, 116 tackles with 18 assists.
Warrick Holdman: Another fourth-round pick of the Bears in 1999. Left the Bears in 2003 for Cleveland, then from there to Washington, and retired in 2006. Since 2001, has 1.5 sacks, an interception, 12 passes defended, five forced fumbles, and 171 tackles with 42 assists, including his 2001 campaign of 95 tackles with 14 assists.
Nick Roach: Joined the team in 2007 out of Northwestern as an undrafted
This one should be closer than the other two... Got another option? Vote "Other" and tell us who we missed!

He of the checked box fiasco.

Hillenmeyer's my boy
Second to none as a backup option. Plus I’m a pretty recent Bears fan so I have more memories attached to him than everyone else.

I love me some H², but.....
I’m not sure how he’s winning this. He lost his job to Roach, and both Holdman and Colvin were better LBs.
He had more heart than any of ’em, though, so I guess I can see it.

Loyalty, I'd guess...
His accomplishments might be lower than the other guys on this list, but his loyalty to the franchise is a massive boon to his case. 8 productive years in a Bears jersey? Probably aren’t too many ppl out there that can say that. And being the primary backup to Urlacher isn’t a terrible place to be either. Not to mention he was the starting SLB on our SB team. Bears fans have a massive soft spot for that team, look at the Offensive Line rankings we put together.
Or it could also be that our O-Lines have been so bad
that the biggest names on those teams were voted lol

Thanks to the FF that HH had on AP, in turn that play allowed the Bears to force OT and got the W
I don’t know if that made any sense, but I voted for Hunter.
It has to be Rosy
The guy was a legit Pro Bowl calibre player. He could shut down TEs, take down the QB and stuff the run. A far superior player to HH.
