2006 Super Bears: Where are they now. Part 1

Notable former Bears have signed with new teams, and I decided to look into where the 2006 Bears Superbowl roster went.  I won't include some fringe players in an effort to make this Fanpost concise.  I will use the following format:

Current Player

Former Player : New Team

Player not in NFL (Status)

Star-divide

Offense

OC: Ron Turner : Colts (Quarterbacks coach)

Quarterbacks:

Rex Grossman : Redskins

Brian Griese (retired)

Kyle Orton : Broncos

Running Backs:

Thomas Jones : Chiefs

Cedric Benson : Bengals

Adrian Peterson (UFL)

Fullback:

Jason McKie (F.A.)

Wide Receivers:

Bernard Berrian : Vikings

Mark Bradley (F.A.)

Rasheed Davis : Lions

Justin Gage :Titans

Mushin Muhammad (retired)

Tight Ends:

Desmond Clark

John Gilmore : Steelers

Offensive Line:

Roberto Garza

Olin Kreutz : Saints

Ruben Brown (retired)

Terrence Metcalf (F.A.)

Fred Miller (retired)

John St.Clair (F.A.)

John Tait (retired)

Kickers:

Robbie Gould

Brad Maynard : Texans

Special Teams:

Devin Hester

Only 4 Bears remain active with the team.  At the time since Hester was primarily a returner rather than a corner, I added him to this part since it seems more relevant to his contributions to the team.  One thing I did notice was the offensive line was basically at its peak or slightly over it, but at a point where it definitely needed a youth injection.  Angelo responded by spending only 6 picks on the line in the next 5 years, most of them 6/7th rounders.

It was just an observation

My fanshot was a little short so I added some fluff rather than add the defense and make its insanely long. However, my opinion is in the comment I made on the O-line and i agree with you Kreutz and Barrian would be “maybe” nice pieces to still have. I’d also kind of add Justin Gage to the maybe list, but only for these past few years 2007-2010, I would have cut him for the receivers we have now. Last year a big target would have been nice.

Let us cavort like the Greeks of old! You know the ones I mean.

I'll always remember that Rams game in 06

when he trucked a guy and knocked the defender’s helmet off

I was at that game

That was the same game that Hester broke the record and Mark Anderson took Bulger’s head off.
