The Score is reporting that the Bears are being forced to completely cancel the family night practice at Soldier Field tonight because the condition of the field is so bad.

Kev's Note: This is an embarrassment. There is no excuse for Soldier Field to not be in tiptop shape. It is not a concert arena, it is a sporting field, and should be managed as such. Bears players are hitting the buses to get back to Olivet Nazarene University to have practice tonight.

Kev's Note 2: Per Biggs, practice is closed to media and public, so don't bother heading out to ONU.

This is bad on so many levels. I am at a loss for words. The Bears need every day to practice. The Chicago Park District has completely dissed their number one paying tenant. The Bears are a founding franchise of the $9B dollar NFL and the only team in one of the biggest markets in the country.

This is a disaster, an embarrassment. A slap in the face. A farce. And maybe, this is what it is going to take to finally do what's necessary and fix the turf issues at Solider Field permanently.
