Twitter highlights from today's practice

Here you go, some quick hits:

Star-divide

ChicagoBears.com

LM: have waived QB Matt Gutierrez and RB Dan Dierking.

Zach Zaidman

Lovie Smith on his OL in practice: "It's not like they're going to go against a better defensive line during the course of the year."

Michael C. Wright

Was surprised, 2. Feet never get outside frame. RT : On Roy Williams: Runs clean routes 4 big WR. Can get out of breaks.

Zach Zaidman

Lovie Smith confirms Bears visiting with Kelvin Hayden

Brad Biggs

Lovie says 1st depth chart will be released Wednesday

Sean Jensen   Devin Hester with an unnecessary double move, allowing Graham to regain a step. But Hester still catches 50 yard bomb from Jay Cutler

Brad Biggs

Great pick by DJ Moore in 1 on 1 drills.

Sean Jensen

In one on one, Cutler pass for Sanzenbacher picked off by Zack Bowman.

Sean Jensen  Devin Hester having his way with Corey Graham on consecutive plays. I'm sure Graham would argue Hester being too physical.

Michael C. Wright

OK, Carimi just held his own w/Pep.

Zach Zaidman:  Few things more fun to watch at training camp than Mike Martz teaching his offense during practice. You can learn so much.

Thanks for compiling these.

Perhaps this could serve as a general thread where folks can continually post tweet updates of the camp? It would be nice to have them all in the same place.

its good to point out our OL is going against our d-line

its true, they’re not going to face many challenges during the season as tough…so as long as they’re doing okay, i think we’ll be in good shape. even if they’re getting beat often, i’m not sure that is necessarily terrible because we do have a sick d-line.

make a twitter account, and start following the beat reporters and official sites.

It's funny that you guys consider ybr a beat reporter

Or even put him in the same class with Jensen, Biggs, Zaidman, Wright, etc

i don't consider him a beat reporter

but I’ll read his comments. I don’t consider chicagobears.com one either :) I also occasionally, when I have the focus, just twitter search “bears” and read what fans are posting en mass.

I signed up earlier for Twitter

Shortly after I clicked to follow Chris Harris he sent me a message saying “Thx for followin. ’Preciate it. BEAR DOWN!!!”

Thought that was cool. I still don’t know how to use Twitter though.

Chris is the bestest.

He interacts with his fans more than any player I’ve ever seen. Even outside of football, I truly have a lot of respect for the guy.

I wonder
Sean Jensen Devin Hester having his way with Corey Graham on consecutive plays. I’m sure Graham would argue Hester being too physical.

Did he mean “too physical” for such an early, preseason practice (i.e. Graham: “No fair! Hester’s playing too physical!”)? Or did Hester improve enough to be legitimately physical on the line and get off the jam (not assuming that graham is good at applying a jam at the LOS)?

Checking out my sprunjer?

by Chicago Faithful on Aug 9, 2011 1:06 PM CDT reply actions

I'm guessing the former

though I did hear that he added some strength in the offseason. It’s probably more:

- Hester’s physical at the line.
‘Hey bro! These are light drills! You can’t be doing that stuff!’
‘You serious, bro? I’m just tryin’ to catch the ball!’
‘Hey, cool it, man! Just cool it!’

Something like that, yes…

Q: Who is playing you in the movie about the ESPN book? I think it should be Adam Sandler — you both peaked 12 years ago.

Maybe....

it was too physical attacking the ball, as in near offensive pass interference, which I am sure just about never gets called in training camp…Hester may be trying to “go up and get it”
