My 53-man roster

This is my 53-man roster prediction for our Chicago Bears. Some tough calls along the way here.

What I think the 53-man roster will look like:

QB (3) Cutler, Hanie, Enderle

RB (3) Forte, Barber, Unga. Notable cut: Chester Taylor. Barber makes him expendable

WR (6) Bennett, Knox, Hester, R. Williams, Hurd, Sanzenbacher

TE (3) Davis, Spaeth, Clark. One or two of these guys may be playing FB or lead blocker as well.

OL (9) Webb, C. Williams, Garza, Louis, Carimi, Omiyale, Edwin Williams, Spencer, Linnenkohl. Linnenkohl makes it as the center of the future. Don't think he would get through waivers or another team may claim him.

24 on offense

DL (9) Peppers, Idonije, Paea, Adams, Wootton, Melton, Gholston, Okoye, Toeaina. Vernon Gholston as the 3rd down pass rusher.

LB (5) Urlacher, Briggs, Roach, Iwuh, Thomas. If a vet LB is signed (such as Tatupu or Tinoisamoa, DB is the spot that will have one less)

DB (10) Tillman, Bowman, Jennings, D. Moore, J. Moore, Graham, Wright, Harris, Steltz, Conte

ST (3) Gould, Podlesh, Mannelly

Hmm...Clark will be the fullback since the staff trusts him, has decent pass catching ability and a good blocker

I also think he played the position when they cut McKie a couple years back. Spaeth and Davis will probably be exclusively TEs.

My 53 man roster prediction.

Clone Craig Steltz 60 times. 52 for the roster, 8 for the practice squad. Release everyone else. Beat the Packers. Sweep the Division. Win the Super Bowl. Get 61 miniature sized rings to fit Steltz’ baby-sized hands.

Vittatoe??

Does anyone think the Bears may want to hang on to Vittatoe as dev player? I know he was in at garbage time, but he looks awfully poised for a rookie. It would be nice to see him get some reps in the next game and see what his arms looks like? He threw for 13,000 yards in college. I know it was UTEP, but my goodness!!!
