The Chicago Bears Offense Revolves Around Matt Forte
It's time for the Bears to stop messing around and to pay the man.

Angelo better lock Forte up
Because if he doesn’t, Forte has already said he’ll go get paid somewhere else next year if the Bears don’t tag him or the year after.

Forte is here for 2 more years because of the Franchise Tag option
He turned down one offer. Now its looking like he’s the only weapon the Bears have. Paying him right now is stupid. His demand is as high as it’ll be.
Now should the Bears start needing to rely on him less his demand decreased. Less money. Give it a little time. God forbid as much as the Bears are going to have to use him he might get broken

The only justification I can see in all of this waiting by the management
Is the recent and scary trend of players who recently signed big time extensions receiving season ending injuries. Peyton Manning doesn’t look like he will be playing any time soon, and Jamaal Charles is done for the year with a torn ACL.
Otherwise….PAY DA MAN!!!
Also, with all this talk about Forte, we should also give a shout out for Hitman. Pay that guy too Jerry!!!

Didn’t you know, Major Wright and Chris Conte are our future at safety :/

What about Brandon Meriweather!? And I just don’t feel Lovie would appreciate one of his leaders getting ignored again.

Martz
I don’t know if this is true anymore, but does Martz allow Jay to call audibles? If not, it seems this would handcuff our offense to stick with crappy play based on the defensive tendencies.
Regardless, so frustrated we built a team around a Martz offense and he could very likely be gone after this year. You have to question Angelo’s decision making and Lovie Smith’s lack of a voice in this whole mess. If they can’t control Martz, this season is over.
If that's true
Someone needs to raise some hell at Halas Hall. These defenses are licking their chops when we go down more than 10 pts. Give Jay some control
Its true
martz relies on hot reads to be made but no audibles because he has a Super Bowl ring and thus is always right….

No audibles in the Martzfense.
Can’t decide whether that, or a total disregard for the safety and well-being of the QB, is the stupidest feature of his system.
Lovie Smith's goals
1. Beat the Packers – failing
2. Win the division – 3 out of 7
3. Win the Super Bowl – failing
How about one simple goal - win championships
Beat the packers failing?
doesnt he have a winning record against them?
We Are Guardian Force...READ IT!...BAM!!!
IIRC
he is now 8 – 7 including the playoff loss…

Think of it as progression.
Beat the Packers, and other teams in your division, in order to win the division and make the playoffs, whereupon you push for the Super Bowl.
It is all one goal.

That shouldn't be the baseline
The Patriots are the baseline. That’s what I expect - nothing short of winning championships
You make it sound so simple.

All I'm saying
is we shouldn’t be satisfied with this product because Wanny and Jauron were bad. I’ll be happy when we are perennial contenders
I knew what you meant – you cited the Patriots who haven’t won a championship since 2004. :)
I’m with you, actually – I’d rather see my team be a perennial playoff team, at the minimum. Hard to get there, however.

No, they haven't.
Have they had a losing season since their first Championship? How many times have they missed the playoffs in the last decade?
They are perennially in the Championship hunt. Just because they haven’t won in 6 years doesn’t mean that they aren’t the gold standard. They have changed their defense completely twice and their offense almost completely once. All under the same regime. All without a significant dropoff in either talent or production.
What that our Bears could be as successful as the Pats have been in the last 6 years. What that our Bears could be as successful as the Eagles under Donny Mac. The constant and persistent bouncing of records and expectations is pathetic for a charter franchise in the largest single-team market with quite possibly the largest single fanbase in the entire NFL.
I disagree with nothing that you said.
The smiley face means I’m screwing around. That’s SOP for me.
