NFC Divisional Playoffs: New York Giants At Green Bay Packers Open Thread

Today's second game brings the pass rush of the Giants versus the well-executed offensive attack of the Packers. The last time these two met up in the playoffs, the Giants beat Brett Favre as they went on to upset the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Will this time bring more of the same, or will the Packers continue their dominant ways of this season?

As always, Open Thread Responsibly (TM).

Not much...

I am hoping my two-part plan is finalized:

  1. Denver Tebow’s lose so I don’t have to hear about that d-bag anymore this season.
  1. Packers get upset by Giants…so I can stop seeing every man, woman, and child wearing green and gold jerseys everywhere I look!!!

I hope that the Giants completely ruin Rodgers here

Ruin him so bad that his passing ability never recovers and he becomes a turnover prone mess for the rest of his career.

If that was intentionally called in Green Bay’s direction, then people need to be fired, pronto.

But even if that was accidental, a call missed to that degree of fuckery is a problem. Even if it’s only the one, it altered this game HUGELY, and seriously cheapens the image of this game, the playoffs, and the league itself. Disgusting.

Cant agree with you more.

I am feeling the same way as most people who did who are more defense oriented. I hated NFL this season after what they did with rules to make NFL more offense friendly. BUT all these team of showed me defense still wins playoff/superbowl game.

Disagree

Eli Manning keeps going from Dr. Manning to Mr. Interception.

When you go to somebody's house, you don't crap on their floor. Being a fan of one team does NOT give you license to be a dick to fans of another.

Corollary: When people are visiting your house and behaving themselves, them being a fan of a different team is NOT a reason for you to piss in their beer.

That and Coughlin is closer to retirement than Lovie so he has the HC inside track.

by Shuggs on Jan 15, 2012 7:23 PM CST up reply actions

I believe it was more about...

the fact that Lovie was on thin ice and Fewell expected Lovie to be gone in a year, so taking over as HC would have been much more likely if that were his motive. That and JA wasn’t fucking up the drafting in NY either.
