Dave Toub signs 2 year contract extension

As reported from our buddy Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun Times, Bears special teams coordinator signed a 2 year extension today. Reports place his one million dollars per year salary in the upper echelon of special teams coordinators. This still won't stop him from taking a head coaching job, but it's good to see him locked up.

This is a good thing...

I always keep the idea that Toub takes over in a bloodless coup if Lovie fails to improve on 2011.

Fantastic

And just in time too. The Colts will now be searching for a new HC as Jim Caldwell has been fired.

Jay Cutler is our QB, and I for one am proud of that

Consistent Excellence/performance is rewarded

Congrats Toub you earned it, hopefully the rest of the gang at Halas hall will reach your level or be gone with a big gust of the Chicago wind.

Love it!

Does anyone know if this helps Jay become a better QB?

Perhaps indirectly..

If Dave toub’s coached ST unit can give the Offense an excellent starting position/additional points, Jay will have the opportunity to work a defense more so on his terms vs. having to throw into nickel cov/obvious passing situations with d lineman teeing off on him

That's good news

for the team and good news for Toub, who by all accounts is a class guy.

El Cheapo Bears strike again...

(Can I borrow a dollar though Virginia??)

Seriously, A more than worthwhile investment.

Such a misnomer

They are in fact one of the highest spending NFL franchises in the league. Do some research before saying they’re “cheap.” It’s just not true.
