Who is going to play the opposite side of Tillman?
I have been out of commission as of recently. No I will not explain why but it’s a good reason. I am sorry if my inner geniusness is a little off this article since I haven't tried to be so professional over the past few days (yes that is sarcasm). But to get down to business over 50% of the people did not agree with me that the Bears should draft a defensive player. I have created a ton of articles that involve offense and I am pretty sure making another offense based article will start to annoy people. But there seems to be a little dilemma going on within the CB spot. So I decided to make a article based directly on CBs.
Charles Tillman has been the man within the CB spot, so trying to find a new number one CB isn’t the focus as of right now. The main focus is who is going to play the opposite side of Tillman? I know a guy that I personally think is a genius when it comes to the Chicago Bears and he thinks that Corey Graham should be given a chance. I really don’t know if he should, the only reason I would say yes is because I don’t want to lose one of the best Special Teamers (Gunners) in the league.
But I have said this over and over again I want Brandon Carr or Terrell Thomas to be signed this off-season. But if the Bears decide to go big this off-season and sign a WR, OL man, and/or a new DE to have adjacent to Julius Peppers then all shall be swell.
Also Dre Kirkpatrick was arrested due to drug possession so Kirkpatrick’s stock value could be diminished due to that. So maybe drafting him could be a possibility and could be a great acquisition not only for current use but also for future use with Peanut Tillman becoming more and more older.
I hope you all like this article I tried to do something different so it would be a little more pleasing to you. But thanks for reading and like always comment and answer the poll.

PFF really liked Tim Jennings this year
one writer had him in the mix for his Pro Bowl team as late as Week 15.
Obviously Jennings isn’t ideal, but he’s still just 28 … if he wants to come back for relatively cheap, I’m fine with giving him another two years. I imagine a guy like Terrell Thomas will cost a lot, and it’s pretty rare for a rookie CB to be effective right away. Limited assets, short window to win, so I’d rather use the big assets on a WR and DE where the Bears don’t really have a fill-in. I’d like to see them draft a CB though, maybe as high as 3rd round, and I’d support expanding Corey Graham’s role.
I'm right there with you...
CB’s definitely are a dime a dozen in this very deep CB draft.

Jimmy Smith
Patrick Peterson
yeah that’s all i can htink of..
you’re correct DBs have trouble as rookies because they haven’t gotten used to the strength of an NFL WR

The Peanut/Timmy combination is working pretty reasonably right now.
I’m not really concerned with our secondary. We’ve got veteran cover-2 guys at the corners, and young athletes at safety. I’m more concerned with DE2 and getting somebody dominant on the inside. But, for the most part, our defense is as good as it’s going to get given the aging superstar syndrome.
I'd be okay with Jennings' returning
on a one or two year deal if we draft a corner somewhere in the first 3 rounds.
If its free, take two.
I'm good with that too.
I think that there’s a solid cache of CB’s to choose from and groom, especially in a cover-2 scheme to get solid production.
If you can get them to buy into the C-2 to start, and as they come to speed expand their skillset to do more man coverage, you’re in good position to find someone a bit deeper who has the physical characteristics ala Zack Bowman, only without the suckiness… I think we could still hit and miss on a DB right now, and try to take a high upside guy right off the bat…

I think
we’d be less concerned about our CBs if we got more pass rush from the LDE and more consistent play from both safeties.
Our secondary struggles with good quarterbacks.
No big surprise there, but I do think we have solid guys in coverage. The biggest impact on our pass coverage will be getting consistent pressure. There were about 10 games this year where we couldn’t get pressure on the quarterback and the secondary gets roasted. I say we pick up some FA pass rushers and make pass rusher a priority in the draft.
Our new corner
Cortland Finnegan would fit in great with the Bears. He is a free agent this year, relatively young, signable, and weather you hate him or not you have to respect his play.

Wouldn't this guy's
attitude problem be a big red flag for the Bears org?

Might follow Fisher to STL, too.
Bearsh!tt!n It ain't obscene- I'm a Bears fan that likes hittin and exclamation points.
I really see the Bears getting the dark horse Thomas since Rogers is off the board. He missed the entire season to injury so he could be a bargain that the Giants can shed.
Carr is not leaving KC. They are more likely to sign him than Bowe since he is much cheaper and doesn’t have conditioning or motor issues.
If Jennings could just hold on to a freakin' interception
we wouldn’t even be having this discussion. But I’d rather have a guy that’s good at covering in man or zone and gets a couple picks than a guy who ISN’T good at covering and gets a half dozen (I’m looking at you Z. Bowman). I’d love Carr. Isn’t Grimes available too?
