He's injury prone, and has several run ins with the law, so he's almost perfect...except he a tad too big. I thought the Bears preferred people like Peter Dinklage, you know, who run low to the ground and are hard to tackle.

Martz likes small, crisp route runners...

…but the Bears are going to target someone with size this offseason.

My gut tells me they go after a big name WR in FA (Colston, Bowe, VJax) or via trade (Marshall) and maybe look at WR in the 2nd-3rd in lieu of the 1st. We’ll see, though.

Not afraid to go over the middle but clearly more comfortable working outside the hashes.

We’ve got plenty of guys who are comfortable outside the hashed. We lack receivers who can consistently go over the middle.

I try to watch as few ND games as possible, lol

I would agree with the assessment that he can go over the middle but is better on the outside. That said, it’s not a huge deal. I might have come across as making it a bigger deal than it is.

To elaborate on that

From my limited experience watching him i would suggest that the reason he is better on the outside largely due to his lack of small space quickness. Brian Kelly did a good job of utilizing Floyd on long routes with minimal cuts such as fades, posts and crossing routes. This allowed Floyd to utilize one of his long striding speed while limiting the need for him to make sharp accurate cuts.

Long story short: they used long developing routes to play to his strengths while masking his lack of small space quickness.

Knox and Hester

running go routes doesn’t count as working outside the hashes. We need a complete WR, we have none of those. Floyd would instantly be the best WR on the roster.

Personally, I’d vote for drafting Floyd, signing another good WR in FA, and moving Bennett to the slot or a rotational number 2. We need to be able to score with teams like GB, Detroit and New Orleans. If we can do that AND play great defense, then we really have something. I’d like to see them stop trying to just “get by” on offense and try to add a great offense to their D.

Bears need Wrs period we need guys that can start A.S.A.P

We need to sign 2 wrs off the free agent list or were in trouble..We dont know if knox is coming back and be able to play like he did which wasnt all that great.we need guys to start. If we draft a guy in the first round and hes a bust we have bennett left only.We need to take care of our offensive needs with the free agent market 2 wrs and a OT.Then you can draft your needs in the draft.

I don't know if puttin down the Twinkies or puttin down the Beer is harder , but ....

…. I think I’ll go with the drunk cause at least he can go to meetings ( and I can identify with the drunk side easier ! ).
