i voted disapprove

I’ve consistently disapproved of Smith for the past two seasons, particularly because of his inability to consistently adjust to game situations, develop players, and coach through player injuries. Many coaches have those same difficulties but with some of the great coaches, like Bellichick , they seem to have that extra bit of talent to move forward past adversity. I realize that Smith has had decent success with our Bears but I think that that success is sometimes in spite of having Smith as coach, not always because of him.
I could live with keeping him around but he must approach acquiring his coordinators with an open mind and not limit himself to his close friends or cronies.

Disapprove as well

The lack of adjustments in the 2nd half, sticking with the outdated Cover 2 scheme, his comments to the media are becoming a problem. “Why would you ask that question?” in regard to Martz. I realize Angelo and the front office deserve more blame for the reasons
why 7-3 became 8-8, but I voted disapprove as well.

Lovie is okay, but who should replace him

Lovie should have never let Riviera go, and basically a head coach is as good as his assistants. Lovie is mediocre, but can he win a Superbowl? I’m not so sure.

I dissed him but...

I think the Lovie/Jerry regime is going to remain in place through contract expiration— even George Halas’s namesake won’t change that thinking. And I’m OK with that if the Amiable Texan doesn’t forget to hang on to Martz’s leash. (If Martz is there!) And stop playing chicken defense in the fourth quarter! Tim Tebow would be done for the year if we hadn’t stationed our safeties in the parking lot with 5 minutes to go on a 10 point lead. And Marion Bungle wouldn’t get his name mangled by hotheads like me! There is hope for the Bears. But I hope God doesn’t notice that what I just said sounded like something that would come from a Cub fan—like me… :-)

And I agree wholeheartedly with the criticism of the Rivera move. No member of the ’85 team would ever play soft defense!

The Bears have gotten by

on pure talent (Defensive) since Lovie’s been here. He’s run his course, and the sooner he’s gone, the better. I’m not drinking the, “bend but don’t break” kool-aid. Do enough bending, and it’s as good as broken.

Strongly disapprove...

he is way over-rated!! Bring on the chin or chucky!! My hats off to you who wanted Jim Harbaugh as our HC when we were hoping for Lovie’s termination a couple years ago…what a job he has done in San Fran.

What did one tampon say to the other..nothing, they were both stuck up cunts..lmao!!

Thats why the approves are more than the disapproves.

Think about what you say before you say it, “No one around here, apart from a few, actually think he is good.” The poll would be the other way around if that were true smart guy. Gruden or Cowher would be a vast improvement over Lovie. Do you even watch football?

Lovie has got to GO!

Mr. Smith has no nerve he does not know how to make changes in game, He consistently is outmatched, and outplayed. The D is something special not because of the archaic scheme LS’ has in place but due to a few special players. He has no back up plan in place ie; Cutler, this year, Urlacher a couple years ago, when trouble does come calling. He is the head Coach, he is the man who is supposed to asses the talent and tell the GM I need a back up QB, RB, 1st string WR, whatever the position. From this Bear’s fan’s vantage point LS has to long of a history of lack of preparation, lack of flexibility, and lack of in game changes.
All teams have to deal with injury, look at the Texans they lost 3-4 QB’s and still made playoffs. I know you don’t want to plan for injury, but it has to be in the book somewhere.
The Bears have a diamond in the rough, sitting in there own house. There Spec. teams coach Toub. I say keep him and give LS his walking papers.

When Urlacher starts to decline, this defense is going to be in trouble.

He is the head Coach, he is the man who is supposed to asses the talent and tell the GM I need a back up QB, RB, 1st string WR, whatever the position.

And it’s almost like Lovie is oblivious to the depth and overall needs on the offensive side of the ball.

100% agree

I heard this pre-season that (S)Martz said Hanie couldn’t run the system.

disaprove

The Bears cover 2 is a signal to other teams they can dink and donk down the field until they get to the 20 yd line. Any team can get to the Bears 20 in crunch time.

Lovie and his Covie 2 should go

Argued with Wilfong a few years ago about the decline of the Bears cover two. It only works well with superior personnel (especially at d-line). While I believe there was some defensive resurgence this year, It is still an antiquaited defense that can not beat the better QB’s in the league. I agree with every one about Lovie’s lack of adjusments and safe we will win 13-10 game plan. I hope he is gone and he can take Martz (don’t get me started) with him.
