Report: Bears LB Brian Urlacher injured both MCL and PCL, but will not require surgery
Some good news coming out of the Bears camp this afternoon: Brian Urlacher's injured knee suffered during the regular season finale against the Vikings will not require surgery.
In what looked like a devastating injury to the Pro Bowl linebacker, this is great news for the veteran team captain, and he should be ready to go for 2012.
Here is the team's press release: LINK.

question to those who saw the game
Could Wright and the DB whose name escapes me now have avoided that crash with Urlacher or not. Opinion of course.
"Losers always whine about their best. Winners go home and f**k the prom queen."
I'd say yes
but Wright stated he didn’t saw Urlacher.

I'd agree with Dutch's take

That's brutal
Hadn’t seen the video. He’s fortunate to escape with strains only.

It's not Wright's fault...
it’s just a normal day in the NFL. Thankfully no surgery is likely. Surgery is more destruction followed by lengthier rehab. ACL would have been the worst news.
There's a fine line between stupid...and clever!
this is great news
ESPN is still reporting the 2 tears but they aren’t very specific about it

No surgery means less rehab
Thank goodness for that.

Whew!
I thought it was MUCH worse. Thank goodness he will be ready to go from the start of the season.

yeah at first I thought it was an ACL injury
Good to hear the injury doesn’t need surgery though

My question is...
Why was he even playing?

What I meant was...
why did the coaches have him in a meaningless game

I imagine they had to sedate Urlacher in the locker room during the last Minnesota drive to keep him off the field, injured or not.

Blaming Wright for the injury is goofy
the ball was in the air and it is his job to defend. The injury to Urlacher was one of those unfortunate accidents.
