PrintLast week Greg Olson was a hot candidate for the quarterback coach / passing game coordinator position the Chicago Bears are looking to fill, but yesterday he took a job coaching in Jacksonville. He was hired as their assistant head coach / QB coach. It seems like slow business as usual at Halas Hall.
They could be waiting on coaching candidates that are still coaching playoff teams or they could be waiting to see how the Mike Tice interview in Oakland goes, but it sure seems like deja vu all over again with this coaching search.

why settle for someone when we could clean house and not waste another season of Cutler and the defense. At least if we start fresh, Cutler won’t have to learn a 4th system in 5 years

I'm hoping that all this calamity and lack of action will force the McCaskey's hand and fire Lovie so that the team can start fresh. I'd also like to be a millionaire and be married to Kate Beckinsale but that ain't gonna happen!

The Senior Bowl practices start over the weekend or early next week.
All the coaches, scouts, agents, etc. will be there. It should give Lovie & hopefully Tice a good opportunity to find a candidate.
Really wanted to go.
It’s only a couple of hours from where I live. Gotta work though.

Whole plan is messed up
Lets assume the new GM isn’t someone named Ruskell. In a competitive market place, how in the world do the Bears expect anyone of quality to be interested in what may turn into a 1 year deal. And then if Tice scoots over to the silver and gold, you’re going to find a coordinator under the same circumstances? One you want?
They are either setting up to seriously hamstring Lovie, or develop an excuse to extend him now so they can hire for the open coaching positions.
