McNabb: I Waited For Bears To Call Me
Could good ol' Donovan McNabb have made a difference in getting the Bears into the playoffs when Cutler got injured? I guess we'll never know.

Doubt it
He may come in as a camp body, but he will end up talking about football by the end of the season, not playing it

He isn't waiting because the season is over....and you can't sign someone during the playoffs.
He isn’t waiting to sign with the Bears….nice try though.
Did he sign somewhere after his release ?? No , thus hes still waiting ....
…. , is still a Free Agent and will be for a long time . Ya wanna no why ? Because he can no longer play the game at a high level ( or any level for that matter ) . Do you really think he could have came in and done anything ?

I think he could have done at least as well as McCown
Personally I thought he was made the scape goat in Washington and Minny. The game against us when he got benched for Ponder I thought he played as well as could be expected from a guy his age with the WR’s he had. I counted at least 4 bad drops that game
Martz would have never wanted him
and he’s very picky about his QBs
The Bears should have called him
McNabb’s stats with the Vikings this year:
QBRat Comp Att Pct Yds Y/G Y/A TD Int
82.9 94 156 60.3 1026 171.0 6.6 4 2
Compare that to what Hanie did:
41.8 51 102 50.0 613 102.2 6.0 3 9
Its not even close.
And to all those people who think “Oh, Martz’s system is too complex for McNabb” or whatever such nonsense. You’re wrong. McNabb could have spelled out the play on his hand in the huddle like every 5th grade backyard football game, and still done much better than Hanie.
In fact, I’ll say it. The Bears would likely would have won 2 out 3 against against K.C, Oakland, and Denver if they had McNabb at the helm. A colossal mistake on their part.
