Emery or Ross seem like the front runners , but who knows .

We're at the start of the offseason.

We’ll be lucky if they fill it by March.

I hope Phil gets the job.

He’s just the kind of workaholic we could use. He’s had his hand in some very good drafts with the Falcons and Chiefs. He’s a great college scout and I’d be happy with him.

I think this search is a ruse.

The Bears are already paying Ruskell, they’ll continue to pay Ruskell no matter who they hire, Lovie’s already worked with Ruskell and Lovie will be a major key in who they decide to hire, and they interviewed Ruskell. I think everything clearly points to Jimmy Raye.

Above all; keep 'em guessing, never let them lose their sense of confusion.

I agree.

We should put a real clown at the GM position, and make Ruskell come to work every day in a clown suit.

That way next year if the Bears fall apart we can scream about getting anyone to replace the clowns running the Bears. Hopefully we can make Ted come to work in a clown suit to, in order to complete the trifecta.

Don’t forget to put a red nose on Lovie.

I voted ruskell just bc i think this same situation will happen unfortunately they’ll just act like they tried hard but just couldn’t agree to terms..but lets hope not

If he gets the job

Will he consult his WCG colleagues before FA and the draft?

I voted Ruskell but the longer this goes, I'm starting to lean more toward "dark horse"

and go back to what a few people here predicted a week or so ago. I think when all is said and done, Lovie will be the GM/HC and Ruskell will be the personnel guy. It saves money for the McCaskey’s, ties everyone’s future to each other’s without re-working any contracts, and puts all the accountability where it needs to be so there are no excuses.

Since Lovie is going to have input anyway and seems to wield the most power in the organization, outside of Virginia, I actually would be okay with it. He’ll either prove a lot of us wrong or he’ll go down in flames and we can truly start from scratch after next season. I’d be fine with either scenario.

Emery

He’s got the history as a scout for the Bears, but more importantly, the track record as a scouting director. He’s had a hand in drafting good Wrs and O-linemen.
