Super Bowl XLVI Match-Up Set: New York Giants vs. New England Patriots

Giants	February 5th, 2012, 6:25pm ET, NBC	Patriots

The match-up for Super Bowl XLVI is set, and it will be a re-match of a game we just saw a few years ago.

The Giants were the beneficiary of an untimely special teams drop, and the Patriots were the beneficiary of a missed field goal.

Can we now say that special teams wins (or loses) championships? Stick with WCG this week and we'll break this game down like no other can.

tom brady can add another ring to the collection

i like watching their offense. gronk made me some cash in fantasy so hes my boy.I’m an eli fan and it should be fun seeing him throw to all those wrs and their dline is studly.

plus i did not want to see alex smith in the super bowl big chance of a dud. i wouldnt have minded baltimore. but im def happy with this outcome

I definitely wanted to see the 49ers win.

I DO NOT like the Giants and was dreading all the rematch talk that’s going to come. I hope the Patriots thrash the Giants in the SB.

I live in CA and have lots of friends who are 49ers fans. They were beyond excited this week and man what a letdown this is with the game turning on two stupid turnovers.

But I also strongly dislike the Giants. So rather than rooting for the lesser of two evils, I’ve simply reverted to the category of not giving a crap. LOL

The only upside in this

Is to see either Brady add his 26th ring or Eli add his second right on Peyton’s backyard. I did not care that much about the AFC matchup (even if I slightly favor the pats), and kinda wanted to see the 49ers go all the way, but the prospect of seeing Peytons achievements reduced further is ok by me. The huge strawberry on the cake of an awful season, the icing will be the tantrum once Luck is drafted.

If last week proved an offense can’t go nowhere without solid (or at least very opportunistic) D, yesterday proved how important STs are. I could say I was surprised with Harbaugh keeping Williams on returns on OT, but he did make some good returns after the first muffed punt. Tough choices.

That said, I really don’t want us to play that 49era pass rush anytime soon, unless it’s a playoff game. Manning had a dropback on almost every pass, and hurrys+ hits + sacks were well into double digits.
