I've said all along that with the addition of an o-lineman with the first round pick and the addition of another lineman with a WR in FA would make us SB contenders in 2012. With Carimi back at RT, we would return Williams healthy, Garza, draft a center/guard/LT and go in FA and sign the other.

I was looking today at draft boards and I came across Vontaze Burfict, inside linebacker for ASU. Not many people have heard of him around here because they didn't know whether or not he would declare but just youtube the guy and you will see all you need to know. Scouts inc. said Burfict would be the no. 1 LB and maybe a top 5 pick but because of his attitude problems he has slipped to No. 19 on Scouts inc's. top 32. The addition of Burfict would take the age of the defense down tremendously and (at strong side LB) it would solidify the Bears as the most talented linebacker core in the NFL. I hadn't thought the Bears should draft defense in the first round but with what they could get in free agency (WR/OL) they could afford to take defense first round.

I haven't heard much talk about who they will go after with the pick. It's too bad we didn't lose to the Vikings and we would be picking 7 or 8 spots earlier but what can you do
