Eric DeCosta to remain with Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens have announced that Director of Player Personnel Eric DeCosta will remain with the team, and will not be interviewing for any other positions around the league.
Many Bears fans were high on DeCosta, just as they were with Reggie McKenzi, from the Packers front office. But, just like with McKenzie, the Bears will have to continue their search...

Ugh...
Really hoping for someone like Sundquist now. I guess from the list we;ve seen, it’s down to Sneed and that guy from Tennessee. Although, the Bears are now set to interview current Eagle DPP Ryan Grigson.

He drafted Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall together in the first place
And not only were his drafts solid, but he is a big player in FA as well as the trade market.

I don't see how it's Ted's fault
Reggie obviously got what he wanted in Oakland, since he ONLY interviewed there.
DeCosta is basically heir to the Raven’s GM job, and Baltimore loves him. There was always a huge chance they’d make sure not to let him get away.
I hear you, and agree to these specific points.
but, in generalities, I don’t see how the GM search ends well. Heard they are stipulating Ruskell stays now.
I hope I am wrong.

Ruskell is gonna stay on & Snead , Sundquist and others are now atop our GM hunt .
Now Ruskell helped with this years draft prep and we got some very solid players ou of this draft ( Carimi , Paea , Conte ) so why so low on him ?

Ruskell
had a not so good history in Seattle, and I actually have no way of knowing how much input or influence he had in the last draft. If he did so well, why not make him GM???
Anyway, my concern is more related to the recruiting of a GM. I am worried that a quality GM is going to see these stipulations (Lovie stays (does make sense, though), Lovie approves of the GM, Ruskell stays). 1.) it seems silly that the head coach needs to approve of the GM hire and 2.) also seems a bit crazy that the GM can’t pick his own right hand man in regards to draft preparation etc.

This is like a bad recurring dream.
Reminiscent of the O coordinator search 2 years ago. This is why you don’t do this half-ass, Michael McCaskey, should have got rid of everyone.
Honestly, the interest for me in the other candidates after DeCosta and McKenzie is a significant drop off. This sucks.

This doesn’t look good on McKaskey’s, not much traction behind their name, and Sweaty Teddy.

Neither does spelling their name wrong.

Gee: you fire a GM, leave a coach in place, promote a line coach to coordinator,
and boast a roster of aging defensive players with no young talent behind them.
Who doesn’t pass?
Yet in spite of all this, I’m still hopeful. That’s the damnedest part.

This is the 20110 O-coor search all over again. Le sigh
Jay Cutler is still my quarterback.
