AFC Wild Card Game: Cincinnati At Houston Open Thread
Now that I think of it, today's playoff games are a little odd. Two teams with seemingly everlasting "This is REALLY the year" hype have both broken through to the playoffs. And both play today.
Cincinnati spent their first two offensive picks on receiver AJ Green and quarterback Andy Dalton. Now, they're looking to win their first playoff game since 1990. Houston's never been in the playoffs, yet they shored up their defense over the short offseason and behind the strong running of Arian Foster, excellence of receiver Andre Johnson and with TJ Yates successfully treading water, get to host a playoff game.
So since the Bears aren't here, pick a side (or just watch the game), and remember to Open Thread Responsibly (TM).

Should be an interesting matchup
Think the texans will pull it out because Dalton is facing a tough defense on the road

well, everything but the ‘good’ anyway.

Yates showing off his confidence
cuz apparently his arm aint all that…but he stuck that baby in there like he didn’t care
what do you want the man to do?
he led low with his shoulder…i mean, he can’t pull up and show Daniels to endzone

kinda looks like Roid boy w/ darker hair….same douchey Predator sack celebration…

Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!
But
’’We like our wide receivers."
When I assume, I'm not "making an ass out of u and me"... I'm actually putting u between me and an ass.
Isn't the dude that coined that phrase gone? Then again I have been pretty drugged up on cold meds this past week.
Wait did I dream that Jerry Angelo was fired yet the new incoming GM HAS to accept Lovie as his HC?

Sounds like ANY Lovie game...

It wouldn’t be a Bengals playoff game without a random awful challenge from Marvin Lewis.

Looks like he’s from the Lovie school of challenging…

DAFUQ?!?!?!
……multiple sources said there is an internal movement to influence Phillips and team ownership to seriously consider personnel director Tim Ruskell for the [GM] job.
Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!
God, let’s hope not……

If this happens
Then I probably would want him gone…he has too much power
"Violence is not always the answer."
"Violence is the question, and the answers always YES!"
The Bears just don't get it
I’m watching this game and half of the Houston’s secondary could have been our secondary but instead we got Merriweather and yet “internal” people want to keep Ruskell? Screw the Bears FO.
Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!
I believe this is Lovie's doing so..... Screw Lovie!

Funny thing is, Phillips apparently wants to find someone else and that Ruskell is a last resort. By not firing Lovie, Phillips has probably screwed himself as well as the team.

So that's what good players look like...
on the o-line…imagine if the Bears had an o-line or WRs or good coaches or serviceable back-ups. Can’t wait for Ruskell to continue the tradition of wasted drafts and under performing FAs!
There's a fine line between stupid...and clever!
So THAT'S what a #1 receiver looks like.... I was always told they were midgets who ran really fast and couldn't run proper routes or catch a ball. DAMN YOU BEARS COACHING STAFF!
by frenchbears113 on Jan 7, 2012 5:54 PM CST via mobile reply actions
yet...
the Bears retain Drake…AND people defend his “success” rate.
There's a fine line between stupid...and clever!
Well to be fair, Andre Johnson would be great no matter who his position coach was.

It's actually Kevin Walter but he's just ok. He may be bigger but I'd take Earl over him anyday.
by frenchbears113 on Jan 7, 2012 6:00 PM CST via mobile up reply actions
My mistake...
wasn’t Andrew a QB a while back? Anyway, the point is more about Drake not being very good, not about Walter. Walter is a 7th round kid producing more than Bennett or Hester. Methinks that has more to do with the coaching.
There's a fine line between stupid...and clever!
Make this green if you believe the Bears should model their offense like Houston's
