Week 9 of the NFL season kicks off with a battle between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Diego Chargers

Tonight begins the second half of the NFL season, and the first half was not too kind for several clubs. Here is a list of current losing streaks entering Week 9:

NFC:

- Carolina: Lost 5

- Arizona: Lost 4

- Philadelphia: Lost 3

- St. Louis: Lost 3

AFC:

- Jacksonville: Lost 4

- Kansas City: Lost 4

- Cincinnati: Lost 3

- San Diego: Lost 3

Chargers head coach Norv Turner seems to stay on the 'Hot Seat', but if there is any team that might help him get some momentum built, it is the Chiefs.

Kansas City seems to be in crisis mode with their quarterback situation, and tonight, Matt Cassel returns to action with Brady Quinn being sidelined with a concussion.

The Chargers fanbase is growing increasingly restless with their on-the-field product, and Philip Rivers will have a lot of eyes on him tonight. His last two outings have been rough, throwing 4 INTs against Denver in Week 7, and leading his team to exactly zero touchdowns last week versus the Browns.

Tonight might not be a sexy game, but you can bet there will be implications for both clubs if their performances continue to underwhelm.

This is your Thursday Night Football Open Thread... Have fun!
